Drusilla listened to his words and then responded, "My ex-husband was infertile, so we had two kids through vitro fertilization. But then he decided he didn't want them anymore. That's why we got a divorce. But now... now he's going around town claiming those kids aren't his because I cheated, and I just want to prove my innocence."
Without evidence to back her up, she didn't know how to make people believe her.

Drusilla looked at Serge, managing a weary smile, "Dr. Denton, please don't tell me you actually believe I cheated and am now making a fuss for no reason?"
Serge was momentarily taken aback; he had indeed harbored such thoughts.
Drusilla continued, "I thought by coming to you, you might be willing to help. And now, with your hospital facing its own issues, you're here suspecting me?"
She felt genuinely hurt. Wondering what she had done wrong.
It was all because she had been too naive, putting too much faith in Harlan.
Seeing her disappointed, Serge felt a wave of guilt. "I'm sorry. The person in charge resigned, and I need to ask around. It might take some time, is that okay?"
"Can you really find anything?" she questioned, doubting everything now.
Was Harlan really that influential? To orchestrate everything so seamlessly.
Serge replied, "I'll do my best. I'll let you know if I find anything."
"Thank you." At this point, she could only hope.
