"Grandpa, how could you do this? You promised!" Lilith was visibly upset.
Cybele stood by, relieved for Drusilla. She had almost thought that Drusilla was going to get an earful!
Baxter waved his hand, signaling he didn't want to continue the conversation.
Blythe turned to Lilith and Harlan, saying, "This was Enoch's decision, go talk to him about it. Baxter just got back, so let him have a good meal in peace. Be good."
Saying this, she pulled Lilith away, motioning for Harlan to follow.
Harlan stood up, glanced at Drusilla sitting there, and realized he had no control over her. In the Taylor family, she outranked him, practically doing as she pleased.
As the two left, Drusilla didn't move but turned to Baxter, saying, "Mr. Taylor, thank you."
Baxter was speechless at her thanks, still calling him Mr. Taylor?
He frowned, staying silent.
Drusilla, seeing his grim expression, glanced at Cybele, unsure of what to do next.
Luckily, Blythe returned soon. Blythe noticed her husband's stern face and his lack of interest in engaging with Drusilla. She couldn't tell whether he was satisfied or dissatisfied with his daughter-in-law!
She sat down, saying to Drusilla, "Why don't you stay over tonight?"
Now that Drusilla and Enoch's marriage was set, Blythe could only persuade herself to accept everything.
"No, thank you." Drusilla replied. "I need to get back to my kids."
"Oh, I see!" Blythe said.
