Twins - The Unforeseen Legacy of My Ex's Uncle-in-Law novel Chapter 79

As Baxter broached the subject of business, Lilith pouted, her voice dripping with grievance. "Uncle Enoch's planning to ship Harlan off to Africana. He's head over heels for you now. It's just too much."

Drusilla shot Harlan a surprised glance. Harlan's being moved to Africana?

Enoch's really pulled a fast one!

Yet, for reasons unknown, Drusilla found herself feeling unexpectedly delighted and vindicated.

There's something about Enoch. His tongue can be as sharp as a thorn, but his actions? Oddly satisfying.

The thought brought a spontaneous smile to Drusilla's face. Even in front of Baxter and Blythe, she couldn't hold back.

Seeing Drusilla smile, Lilith snapped, "You find this funny? You're behind this, aren't you? I knew it. Keeping you in the Taylor household was a mistake. Harlan and I can never have peace."

Drusilla retorted, "My dear niece, you're joking, right? Do you really think Enoch is someone who can be easily swayed?"

"Uncle Enoch has no beef with Harlan. Why would he target him if not for you?"

"Harlan's young; this is the perfect time for him to gain some experience. Africana's a great place for that! It'll do him good to step out of his comfort zone. Men can't always stay in their safe bubbles."

She spoke as if she had Harlan's best interests at heart.

Harlan, observing the woman who seemed to be making a lot of sense, thought he could see a hint of collusion with Enoch.

This woman, getting close to Enoch has only made her worse.

Unable to argue back, Lilith turned to Baxter, "Grandpa, look at her, speaking so boldly in front of everyone! If she continues to stay in this house, I won't come back! I refuse to be bullied every day!"
