Enoch patted the edge of the bed gently.
Drusilla stood up, took a seat on the edge, and asked, "What's up?"
Enoch reached out, smoothing her somewhat disheveled hair with a gentle touch.
This small gesture caught Drusilla off guard.
Maybe it was the long stretch of being single, but she suddenly found Enoch kind of hot.
Was she really that desperate for male attention?
She inwardly scoffed at herself, hearing Enoch say, "Don't you ever look in the mirror before you head out? You came over with your hair all over the place."
Drusilla blushed. "Waking up in the middle of the night and rushing over here, I think I did pretty well! Who cares about hair?"
Hearing this, Enoch deadpanned, "So, you like me that much?"
So much that you care so little about your appearance?
Drusilla was speechless.
How did she end up liking him?
She said, "Enoch, what are you thinking? I'm just worried about you!"
"If you don't like me, why worry? Women and their contradictions!"
Drusilla replied, "I don't want to talk to you anymore."
She returned to her chair, keeping her distance from him. She remembered all too well the agreement they had signed, so she wouldn't cross any lines.
Drusilla killed some time on her phone while Enoch took his medicine and soon fell asleep.
Oberon entered the room. Noticing that Enoch had fallen asleep, he asked, "Mr. Taylor's asleep?"
"Just dozed off." Drusilla glanced at Oberon, asking, "You haven't slept yet, have you?"
"No."
"Then go catch some shut-eye. I'll keep watch here."
