Chapter 112 Move On
When Jude mentioned setting her up with someone, Kaia
quickly declined. “No thanks, Jude. I’m not in the mood for that right now.”
“Yeah, you’re right. Well, go take a trip and clear your head. Think of it as a vacation. Give me a month tops, and I’ll find a way to get you back here once this merger wraps up!”
Kaia just smiled, “Okay.”
Her eyes flickered with something Jude couldn’t read. She wouldn’t need a month–she’d be back much sooner than that.
Kaia didn’t have any other cases pending review, just the Graves Group merger. She handed off all her materials for that case to Warren, then headed home.
Lucien happened to be traveling for business and would be out of the country for a week.
Kaia knew the villa’s security code, so she contacted Jason and went to add some personal touches to the place.
When she finished, the previously cold, sterile villa finally felt like someone actually lived there. Jason watched everything with a huge grin.
He knew Kaia was Lucien’s future wife–and the first woman

Lucien had ever brought home.
Hell, she was probably the first woman who’d ever been in Lucien’s life at all.
There had been times when Jason thought Lucien would end up alone forever. If Lydia were still alive, she would’ve been thrilled to see this.
After Kaia left, Jason snapped a photo of the newly decorated villa and sent it to Lucien.
Jason: [Mr. Graves, Ms. Domont just stopped by the villa and added some things.]
Lucien only saw this until three hours later.
The time difference between countries meant he was just waking up, getting ready to fly to the next city.
Lucien: [Did she come during the day?]
It isn’t the weekend. Why would she come over at work time?
Jason: [Yes, Ms. Domont came during the day. She said she’ll drop by whenever she has free time these next few days.]
Lucien replied flatly: [Next time she comes, let me know.]
Being abroad, Lucien found himself missing her a bit…

Julian felt nervous getting a call from Lucien so late at night, especially since Lucien was abroad.
“Good evening, Mr. Graves,” Julian said respectfully.
“Julian, how’s the acquisition going?”
“Oh, it’s going well.” He was confused at first, then quickly figured out what Lucien really wanted to know.
“Don’t worry, Mr. Graves. Vanguard Law Firm is doing excellent work, and we’re collaborating really well. Especially with Ms. Domont.”
Lucien clicked his tongue.
I wasn’t asking about that.
But honestly, he felt much more at ease now.
“Hah, sorry, Mr. Graves.” Julian forced a laugh. “I got too chatty there. I thought you’d want a complete overview of our project progress. I’ll focus on the key points next time.”
Lucien cleared his throat. “Don’t worry about it. Stay chatty if
you want.”
Julian didn’t call him out on it. He knew he’d read Lucien’s
mind correctly. He was a man too, after all. Of course he

understood.
Lucien was just too proud to admit it.
But Julian had no idea that because of this misunderstanding, he’d just missed a perfect chance to take credit for his work.

Jimmy’s copyright lawsuit against Alfly Entertainment had been filed and was waiting for trial.
Meanwhile, Luna’s album sales were disappointing, and with all the online hate she was getting, she still didn’t dare open her
comments.
In her mind, she had Kaia to thank for all of this.
At least hearing that Kaia had been suspended gave her some comfort. Andy had told her privately.
“Thanks, Andy.”
Andy felt a wave of sympathy as he listened to Luna’s soft voice. “Don’t worry, Ms. Thorne. Mr. Zane Graves has always been on your side. He really cares about you.”
Luna rolled her eyes. She could judge for herself whether Zane cared. If he really cared, he wouldn’t have told her to stay out of the entertainment industry.

She loved Alden, but she didn’t want to be some delicate flower hidden away at home. She wanted to be seen and appreciated by more people. And Zane had dismissed everything she wanted with one casual comment.
Joanne smiled, “Luna, put your phone down. I will take you to try on wedding dresses.
“Are you still reading those online comments? I don’t know why you’re putting yourself through this. Wouldn’t it be nice to just be a proper wife in the Graves family?”
They were keeping all these online rumors from Allen, otherwise he would give Luna another lecture.
“I’m not looking anymore. Mom, let’s go.” Luna had an idea forming.

Three days later, Kaia saw Luna’s wedding photos plastered all over the internet.
The dress was the same one Kaia had worn for her own photos- almost identical. Clearly, Luna was showing off.
Kaia let out a mocking laugh, then drove to the cemetery.
Time flew by, and the mourning period was finally over. She

held yellow and white chrysanthemums, scattering the petals in front of Claire’s headstone.
“Grandma, rest in peace. I will take good care of myself,” Kaia murmured. “Don’t worry about me. I’ll be fine.”
Kaia crouched down, speaking softly, “Grandma, I’m going to marry Lucien. Do you remember him?”
She smiled gently, “He visited you at the nursing home before you passed.
“He’s pretty good. And I could handle everything myself. You don’t need to worry about me anymore. This time, I’m really going to move on…”
Just then, Kaia’s phone buzzed in her bag. She wasn’t expecting this name to pop up. Lucien’s voice came through deep and smooth, sending shivers down her spine. “Hey, I’m back from my business trip. Are you at the cemetery?” he asked.
Speak of the devil.
“Yeah, I’m here.”
“Good. I’m coming up.”
Lucien’s casual words made Kaia’s heart flutter. “You came?” She bit her lip.

“I’m right down here.” Larcien let out a soft laugh. “Kais, as your future husband, it’s not that surprising that I’d come see Grandma.”
At that moment, Kaia felt like her world suddenly lit up.
