Wedding My Ex's Uncle (Kaia and Alden) novel Chapter 147

Chapter 147 Apologize

Flustered and irritated, Kaia pushed Lucien aside and practically stomped all the way back to her room.

Lucien brushed his thumb over his lips as if savoring the

moment.

It was high time to set a date and make this wedding happen.

Lucien told Kaia to write Luna’s apology herself. She sat at the computer and mechanically typed out a few hundred words.

When Luna received the letter, she almost ripped it to pieces.

She grumbled, “Grandpa, I’m sure Kaia wrote all of this. She is so vicious! How dare she make me look this bad?”

Allen didn’t waste time playing games with her. She wasn’t really his granddaughter.

He said bluntly, “If you don’t want to post it, then leave. Go overseas. You’ve already spent five years abroad before, so this shouldn’t be new to you. Alden will also go with you since he’s always flying somewhere anyway. And don’t come back unless I

say so.”

The moment Allen said that, both Zane and Joanne were utterly

stunned. It hit them that Allen was genuinely furious this time.

Allen may put up with his own son, but he had zero tolerance for a granddaughter who wasn’t even blood-related. People could call him biased, but he’d made his choice. Lucian was his chosen heir-the others simply didn’t matter as much.

Joanne quickly jumped in. “Luna is definitely going to post it, Allen. I’ll film the apology video with her myself. Don’t worry. She gave her word yesterday, and she’s not going to go back on

it.”

This was no laughing matter—it was about her son’s future. When it came down to choosing sides, she would always stand against her daughter.

Joanne turned to Luna, her tone icy and her eyes full of disdain. “Enough with the waterworks. Wipe those tears and come upstairs with me. We’re filming the video.”

As for Alden, he had already left for work.

Luna felt like someone had taken an axe to her chest. Swallowing her pride, she forced herself to say, “Alright, Mom.”

An hour later, Kaia watched as Luna posted the apology video

she’d written.

In the video, Luna began, “Hi everyone, I’m Luna Thorne. I need to address something important.

“On the 29th, I let my jealousy get the better of me. I conspired with another person to trap Ms. Domont in a restroom and harass her. I’m here to publicly apologize to Ms. Domont for my

actions.

“I understand how serious my actions were, and I’ll work on my jealousy and mean streak. I promise I won’t trouble Ms. Domont again. If I break this promise, may I suffer the consequences…”

The comment section below that video exploded.

One user commented: [What’s happening here? Isn’t she the Graves heir’s fiancée? Who did she manage to offend this time?]

Another commented: [This looks like it was filmed while she was being held hostage. She was about to cry halfway through the apology.]

Another chimed in: [Who is this Ms. Domont? She must have serious backing if she can make Mr. Graves’ girl apologize.]

And someone else commented: [Not gonna lie, this woman seems shady. Didn’t she get caught plagiarizing before?]

Kaia closed the comments and let out a small smirk. For a moment, she felt like the air was extra crisp and clean.

Vanessa chuckled, “Kaia, check out the drama online. Isn’t that the girl who’s with Alfly Entertainment’s CEO, Mr. Alden

Graves? Seriously, who did she tick off? She looked absolutely miserable, like she was walking to her execution. That apology was utterly pathetic.

“And get this-the person she’s apologizing to has the last name

Domont too.”

Just then, Jude emerged from his office and studied his apprentice carefully. “Kaia, can you come in?”

Kaia had a good idea what this was about. She followed him inside. “What’s up, Jude?”

“Have you seen what’s happening online?” Jude asked.

Kaia nodded. “Yeah, I did.”

Jude looked her up and down, surprised by how calm she was, but still couldn’t help asking, “So, is the ‘Ms. Domont’ in her apology statement actually you?”

Kaia didn’t bother denying it. “That’s right. It’s me.”

Jude nearly cracked a smile and lifted a thumbs-up at her. Now that’s impressive!

But he was a bit puzzled since the only person backing Kaia was Julian. It made him wonder when Julian had gained that much influence, enough to even cross someone like Lucien’s nephew.

Kaia didn’t care to explain. “Don’t worry, Jude. She won’t come after me again. At least not out in the open.”

As for what Luna might try behind the scenes, Kaia wasn’t too worried. Luna didn’t have much depth when it came to scheming. And if she wanted to play games, Kaia had all the time in the world to keep her company.

Jude nodded. “Alright. As long as you know what you’re doing.” Then, worried she’d take it the wrong way, he added, “I just don’t want to see you get burned.”

He switched topics. “Are you free tonight? There’s a new restaurant that just opened. Thought I’d take you to meet a few folks in the field and make some connections.”

Since Jude was offering to help, Kaia wasn’t about to refuse.

She appreciated how considerate he was. Whenever he thought she might need work, he’d find ways to introduce her to other lawyers and help build her professional network. After all, connections didn’t build themselves overnight.

So, when Kaia later received Lucien’s invitation to have dinner together, she politely turned it down.

She’d even left the house earlier than usual today, just to avoid running into him.

She had already decided she would stay at her own apartment

for the next couple of nights. After being intimate with Lucien, she always felt the urge to get away, to clear her head. She kept her distance, afraid of becoming too attached.

But each day, Lucien patiently wore down the barriers she’d put

As Lucien toyed with the pen in his hand, he heard Landon say, “Hey, don’t forget, tonight is a guys-only thing. No wives allowed.”

Lucien clicked his tongue and replied, “Alright.”

What Landon didn’t realize was that if a certain someone hadn’t declined the invitation, there might have been more than one guest at the table.

When Jude and Kaia stepped into one of the private dining rooms at the upscale restaurant, someone inside said, “Here to show off your apprentice again, Jude?”

Jude laughed, “Just giving her a taste of the real business world. Let her see how the big players operate.”

He turned to Kaia and added, “Kaia, this is the lawyer I was talking about, Mr. Jasper Sullivan. He’s the man in criminal law.” As he spoke, he gave a thumbs up.

Jasper laughed. “Come on now, don’t put me on a pedestal. I’m not all that.”

Suddenly, someone asked, “Hey, where’s Gilbert? I thought he said he was coming tonight.”

Another person chimed in, “He’s busy, probably running a little late.”

A third person joked, “Our workaholic prosecutor, Mr. Marsh, is still single, I hear.”

That made Kaia feel a little uneasy.
