Chapter 193 Handsome Man and a Luxury Car

Kaia sighed, “I know. I’ll be careful.”

After work, she planned to stop by the dealership to pick up her car. But as she and her coworkers headed downstairs, she spotted a familiar silhouette in the lobby.

Lucien stood there in a black shirt. He left the top three buttons open, showing off his smooth collarbone. His sleeves were rolled up to his elbows, showing these strong, lean forearms. He was holding a super bright, gorgeous bunch of flowers.

The man was flawless–sharp, magnetic, and heartbreakingly handsome. He stood beneath the polished ceiling lights of the office lobby, looking like he’d stepped out of a magazine. People passing by couldn’t help but slow down to stare.

And as they stared, a question seemed to ripple through the crowd. “Who is he waiting for?”

Vanessa, who had never met Lucien before, nearly squealed. “Kaia, look! Oh my god–look over there! That guy’s insane. What floor is he from? And who’s the lucky girl dating him? He’s better looking than most models.”

Ophelia, trailing behind them, let out a sarcastic little snort. “Whoever he’s here for, it’s definitely not you.”

Kaia’s expression twitched as she spotted Lucien. She gave a tiny shake of her head, hoping he’d get the message. But Lucien clearly had no intention of hiding. His gaze locked on hers as he strode toward them, unbothered and impossibly composed.

“Kaia,” Vanessa whispered, “why is he walking over here?”

Even Ophelia, despite herself, instinctively smoothed her hair and straightened her shoulders. Her eyes glimmered with a mixture of tension and hope.

She couldn’t quite explain what she was hoping for—just that her heart was racing.

But the next second, her face froze in disbelief.

Lucien stopped directly in front of Kaia. The smile on his lips was soft, but there was no mistaking the possessiveness in his eyes. He extended the bouquet and said in a voice just loud enough for everyone to hear, “Honey, I’m here to pick you up.”

Vanessa’s jaw nearly hit the floor.

Ophelia stared in disbelief, completely dumbfounded,

“Wait, Kaia… that’s your husband?” Vanessa gasped.

Kaia gave Lucien a warning glare but still reached out to take the bouquet.

She said to Vanessa, “Yeah. Sorry, I won’t be riding with you today. I’m heading out with him.”

Lucien gave Vanessa a polite nod.

Vanessa stood frozen. “Right. Of course. Go ahead. You guys… have fun.”

Behind them, Ophelia clenched her jaw so tight she could barely breathe. “No. No way. That can’t be her husband.”

Vanessa turned to her with a mocking smile. “What’s the matter, Ms. Graham? Jealous it’s not your husband?”

Ophelia quickly tried to rationalize it.

He’s just good–looking. That’s it. Good looks don’t pay the bills.

But then, just outside the building, that tall, stunning man casually walked up to a high–end Porsche and opened the driver’s door.

Ophelia looked like she’d just been slapped in front of a crowd.

Kaia’s husband.,. drives that kind of car?

Lucien leaned back in the driver’s seal. “Do you think they recognized it was a Porsche? If not, ask around tomorrow. I can bring a different one.”

Three days had passed since Luna left the country. Other than a single call from Alden right after she landed, she hadn’t heard a word from him.

“They actually divorced?” she asked.

“Yeah!” Kimberly took a swig from the bottle beside her. “My dad’s lost his damn mind. He listens to everything Kaia says. If she told him to jump off a bridge, I swear, he’d do it. I can’t take it anymore.”

Luna’s voice grew colder. “And your mother just… let it go?”

“No, of course not,” Kimberly muttered. Sally had already warned her not to reveal too much.
