Chapter 254 Searching for Evidence
Kaia took Kimberly’s notebook and drove straight to the law firm.
She instructed the butler not to engage with the people outside the gate or provoke them, and to wait for her to handle the situation. Everyone in the household was to stay inside with the doors closed for three days.
Kaia parked directly in the law firm’s underground garage.
“Vanessa, I’m on my way.”
“Kaia, don’t come–there are a lot of irrational protesters outside making a scene.”
Kaia thought these people were being nosy, so she immediately called the police.
The police arrived quickly, treating the gathering as a public disturbance and dispersing the crowd.
“Kaia, you can come up now. The police have cleared out the troublemakers.”
Kaia walked upstairs calmly, but when she entered, the receptionist gave her a strange look, as if she were some kind of heinous criminal,

Kaia went straight to Jude. “Jude, I think there’s something fishy about this situation. But since it’s not appropriate for me to handle it personally, can you take on this defamation case for me?”
Jude hadn’t expected Kaia to confront the online mob head–on. “I support you. Those netizens have gone too far, throwing baseless accusations at you like madmen. But do you know why she jumped?”
Kaia shook her head. “I’m not sure. I’m going to have a
professional handwriting analysis done. Maybe I’ll have answers once the results come back.”
The online abuse continued relentlessly, and Kaia wasn’t entirely unaffected, especially when she saw malicious netizens photoshopping her into a funeral portrait. Furious, she deleted all her social media apps.

Kimberly’s remains were handled by the Martins family.
Alden accompanied Luna to pay their respects at the Martins residence.
Alden hadn’t wanted to go, but Luna insisted, as if she was terrified of entering that place alone.
Ruben was comforted to see Kimberly’s best friend arrive.

“Luna, you finally came.”
Luna stiffly stepped forward to place flowers for Kimberly.
“Mr. Ruben Martins, my condolences.”
Ruben sighed, “I haven’t told Sally yet. I’m afraid that if she finds out, she won’t be able to handle it.”
Luna glanced around but didn’t see Kimberly’s cousin.

Ruben explained quickly, “Finn is abroad. He was devastated by the news but couldn’t get away.”
Alden was distracted. Kimberly always targeted Kaia in the past, so her sudden death didn’t sadden him much.
Hearing Ruben’s words, Luna sneered inwardly.
More like he fled the country to avoid consequences!
Luna forced a faint smile. “Mr. Ruben Martins, we should be
leaving.”
Once they left, Charles nervously asked Ruben, “You don’t think that girl suspects anything, do you?”
Ruben scoffed, “Now you’re scared? Where was this concern when your son was running wild?”

Charles rubbed his nose. “I’m too busy to keep an eye on him all the time. His mother spoiled him rotten! Should we stoke the flames online? The netizens already believe Kaia drove Kimberly to suicide.”
Ruben shook his head. “I’d advise against it. You think Lucien is incompetent? If he traces this back to you, your son won’t escape unscathed.”
Charles nodded. “The scene’s been cleaned up, the servants were paid off, and I have people watching them. Lucien won’t find anything.”
Ruben inhaled deeply. “Let’s hope so.”

Seeing Luna unsettled, Alden gently squeezed her hand. “Don’t be sad. What’s done is done.”
Luna smiled faintly, “I know. I’m just reflecting.”
She hadn’t expected Kimberly to actually go through with it.
The suicide note? Luna had dictated it to Kimberly, but parts had been edited out.
The jump? Kimberly had taken that step herself–Luna had nothing to do with it.

So, all Luna had done was give Kimberly a little push. There was no evidence left behind.

The forensic agency expedited the handwriting analysis for Kaia.
“Ms. Domont, the two samples you provided were indeed written by the same person.
“However, the other document is an image, and the writing appears faint. It would be better to examine the original.”
The original was in the Martins‘ possession–completely out of Kaia’s reach. It seemed like she’d hit a dead end.
Lucien called to ask where she was, and she told him her location.
Half an hour later, Lucien arrived to pick her up.
Once Kaia got in the car, Lucien pulled her into his arms. “Were you scared? I had all the extreme comments deleted. But if we remove everything, they’ll think you’re guilty. I also found out something else.”
Kaia looked up. “What is it?”
