Kaia rounded the corner and spotted Lucien striding toward her in a black dress shirt.

Kaia linked her arm with his as they returned to the private room, where everyone instantly stood.

“Mr. Graves!”

Lucien raised a hand. “Sorry for crashing the party tonight. Hope you don’t mind.”

He flashed a warm smile. “No need to fuss, Mr. Miller. I’ll just sit by my honey.”

That “honey” in front of everyone made Kaia’s cheeks flush.

“Alright, alright, sit already,” she said, tugging him down. Vanessa had already shifted to make room.

Finally, the dinner resumed its normal rhythm.

But Lucien, as always, was the center of attention.

Alex kept the conversation orbiting around him, and Kaia was used to it by now.

While chatting with the group, Lucien casually served Kaia food.

Until two forks both went for the same piece of salmon.

Jerry couldn’t refuse.

When he was thoroughly sloshed, Lucien, arm around Kaia’s waist, waved goodbye and left.

Vanessa, closest to them, took pity on Jerry. “You okay? Want me to call you a cab?”

Jerry gave a faint smile. “Thanks, Vanessa. I’d appreciate that.”

Vanessa, caught by his clear, soulful eyes, felt her cheeks warm.

“Sure.”
