Chapter 89 She Was at Hudson
Yards?
At the Domont Villa, chaos erupted.

“That bitch! Mom, look at this! She must’ve hired trolls to smear me!”
“Enough!” Sally snapped. “Kimberly, those pictures are already out there. They’re practically proof. You need to stay out of the spotlight for now. Just lay low for a while.”
Sally was reaching her limit. She had even started consulting doctors about the risks of getting pregnant at forty–five.
At this point, her only hope was to have another child–ideally a son, someone Tobias might see as a worthy successor.
Because if Tobias ever lost faith in Kimberly, she knew she’d go down with her.
“Kimberly, you should really focus on your father,” Sally said softly. “He listens to everything Kaia says. Instead of obsessing over nonsense, why not put that energy into something useful?”
Kimberly felt completely betrayed.
That whole thing was Sally’s idea. She planned it, and she was the one who didn’t cover all the bases.

Yet I lost my virginity that night, and now she is saying this was my fault?

“Mr. Graves, Ms. Domont replied to your text,” the assistant said nervously. “But… I thought it was spam. I deleted it.”
It was the best excuse he could come up with.
Alden’s expression darkened. “You deleted it? Why?”
The assistant froze, too scared to answer.
Alden exhaled and let it go. He figured Kaia’s response was probably nothing but insults anyway.
“Forget it. I get the idea. You can go.”
But when he saw the online clarification that it had been Kimberly all along, Alden’s face turned pale.
He had accused Kaia unfairly.
His stomach churned with shame.
What the hell was I thinking, texting her like that?
Even though the assistant hadn’t shown him her reply, he could imagine exactly how furious she must’ve been. And the worst

The more he thought about it, the more he wanted to see her.
Without hesitation, Alden drove straight to V…guard Law.
When the receptionist saw the CEO of Alfly Entertainment himself show up unannounced asking to see Kaia, her jaw dropped.
“Mr. Graves, you didn’t make an appointment. Ms. Domont had a court hearing this afternoon. She’s not expected back today.”
Alden’s brows pinched together. “Which courthouse?”
The receptionist looked uneasy. “Well, sir…”
They were not allowed to share that information.
Just then, Jude walked by and nearly tripped over himself when he saw who it was. “Mr. Graves? You’re here to see Kaia?”
Alden’s voice was cold. “Yeah. Which courthouse is she at?”
Jude hesitated. He wasn’t sure what Alden’s intentions were, but the man looked furious.
“Let me think… I think she had a case at the Hudson Yards courthouse today.”

Before he could finish the sentence, Alden turned and walked
out.
The receptionist looked after him, wide–eyed. “Mr. Halston… Ms. Domont’s hearing wasn’t at Hudson Yards today.”
Jude glanced at her and said casually, “Oh, really? I’ll call him later. Don’t worry about it.”
Of course, he knew Kaia wasn’t at Hudson Yards. But with the look Alden had on his face, he wasn’t about to tell him where she actually was. Letting him run around a little might cool his
temper.
It was a harmless white lie. At least it kept their case from getting derailed by someone else’s mess.

Kaia’s hearing went surprisingly smoothly.
By the time she left the courthouse, it was barely four o’clock.
After saying goodbye to her client, she decided not to head back to the office.
She dropped a quick message in the group chat to update Jude and then started making her way home.
Just as she hit send, her phone rang. It was Jude.

“Kaia, what’s going on with you and the Alfly Entertainment CEO? That man came into the office earlier lookin like he was ready to bust someone cheating on him.”
Kaia paused. “Wait… He came to the firm?”
“Yeah. He even said he was going to track you down at court. Good thing I told him you were at Hudson Yards.”
He continued, “Kaia, listen. He’s a Graves. And he’s engaged. You don’t want to get pulled into something that messy.”
Jude didn’t say more, but his warning was clear. He admired Kaia, and the last thing he wanted was to see her dragged into a scandal. The world was already cruel enough to women. He just hoped she’d protect herself.
“Don’t worry,” she said. “There’s nothing going on. He’s just… unpredictable. I’ve told him clearly, more than once. And I’m not even handling Alfly Entertainment’s contracts anymore. We’ve got no reason to see each other again.”
Jude finally understood. So Alden had been the one bothering Kaia all this time.
“Got it. That explains why you’ve been so firm about dropping Alfly Entertainment’s contract. Don’t worry. I’ll handle it from
now on.”

Kaia smiled, “Thanks.”
She knew Jude genuinely had her back.
Just as she hung up, she noticed a woman in a flowing white dress approaching with a sugary smile on her face.
Luna’s eyes sparkled as she greeted her. “Kaia, what a surprise running into you here.”
She flashed a delicate, gentle smile. “Did you hear? Alden and I are getting married next month.”
