Waylon turned toward the head of security. The man was already wailing from the beating he’d taken and didn’t dare say anything but the truth.

“Alden’s a useless fool–he doesn’t even have a phone. Where would he get a number from?” Waylon’s hand tightened around the phone; veins bulged beneath his skin.

“Alden’s the caretaker of the Stone residence. He’s almost thirty now, isn’t he? You’re telling met he doesn’t have a phone? No number? Then whose number does he use to contact people overseas?”

The security captain’s eyes flickered, refusing to meet Waylon’s.

He didn’t know exactly who Waylon was, but it was obvious the man was connected to Alden- maybe even to someone abroad. While the guard hesitated, unsure how much to reveal, Waylon’s patience had already run out.

Trembling, he said, “The phone Alden uses to contact overseas is Logan’s. Logan got him a separate SIM card just for that purpose–Alden only uses it once a month to report in. Normally, he has no phone and no contact with the outside world. Logan keeps him locked in the basement, treating him like an animal.”

Waylon’s eyes turned bloodshot the moment he heard that.

“Locked in the basement? Treated like an animal? How dare he!”

“Dad, calm down,” Baron said quickly. “Let’s go inside and take a look first.”

He still didn’t know why Yvonne had shown up here or how Alden was involved, but one thing was clear–the Stone residence had long since changed hands.

If Alden hadn’t told Waylon about his situation after all these years, it must’ve been because he was being controlled.

Waylon understood that now, but the fury in his chest refused to die down.
