Chapter 275
When she finally snapped out of it, her voice was soft and playful, almost as if she were teasing Troy.
“Troy, could you please get off me for a bit?” she said, her tone sweet and pleading.

Troy’s eyes lingered hungrily on her face, slid down the graceful line of her collarbone, and then shamelessly traced the outline of her chest, rising and falling ever so enticingly beneath him.
In that instant, his gaze turned wild—his pupils nearly burning red, as if a primal desire had taken hold of him.
Teresa instantly felt his scorching stare and threw her arms over her chest, snapping at him with a furious, flustered shout, “Troy!”
But Troy acted as if he hadn’t heard a thing. He seized her hands, leaned in so close that his lips hovered right above hers–but at the last second, he stopped, a tense pause hanging between them.
He gazed into Teresa’s eyes, his own growing misty with emotion, every word earnest and honest. “Sweetheart, can I?”
Teresa saw a need and yearning flicker in Troy’s eyes, and fear made her writhe, struggling to get free–but his hands wouldn’t let her go
Finally, drained and helpless, she stopped fighting and looked up at him, her voice desperate and afraid. “Troy, no. We can’t.”
Troy’s brow furrowed, sadness clouding his eyes as he pleaded softly, “Are you really just going to let me suffer like this?”
Teresa was so scared she almost yelled, her voice trembling she demanded, “Then just tell me what do you want me to do?”

At that moment, Troy lowered his head and nuzzled his face into the crook of Teresa’s neck.

He made sure not to put any of his weight on her and, in a soft voice, murmured, “I just want to sleep beside you.”
Teresa’s eyes went wide, a flustered look on her face as she stammered, “J–Just that?”
Troy lifted his head, caught her gaze, and grinned, his eyes full of playful mischief. “What else did you think I meant? What kind of ideas were you having over there?”
Teresa’s cheeks instantly turned a deep shade of red. She looked away, stammering out, “I–I wasn’t thinking about anything, really!”
Troy smirked, his tone certain and playful. “Come on, that blush says it all. I know exactly what’s on your mind.”
Teresa rushed to defend herself, her voice still trembling. “No way! I wasn’t thinking anything at all!”
Seeing her all flustered, Troy just gave a little smirk, slid right in beside her, and with those long arms of his, scooped Teresa up into his embrace like it was the most natural thing in the world.
Before Teresa could even react, Troy’s warm, teasing voice tickled her ear: “Sweetheart, I totally know what’s running through that head of yours. But relax–unless you say yes, I’d never pull anything funny, alright?”
Teresa finally breathed a sigh of relief and gave Troy a little shove. “Then let go of me,” she said, not quite able to hide the playfulness in her voice.
But instead of letting her go, Troy just pulled her closer, holding her tight. “Just go to sleep,” he said softly. “With me right here, you don’t have to worry about anything.”
Hearing that, Teresa relaxed in his arms, not struggling anymore–almost comforted by his embrace.
She let him hold her, and in that rare moment of calm, tears quietly slid down her cheeks again.
Troy had no idea what was weighing her down, but he could just tell her heart was troubled
Without a word, he slipped his hand under her neck and gently drew her even closer, holding her tight.
So there she stayed, completely wrapped up in Troy’s embrace, safe and sound in his arms.
Snuggled up in his warm embrace, Teresa drifted off to sleep in no time.
Troy held her close, and before long, he too fell into a peaceful slumber
That night, both of them slept soundly, wrapped up in each other’s arms.
By eight in the morning, both of them were still fast asleep, tucked up together and oblivious to the world.
