Chapter 105
Steeling herself, Teresa left Yolanda’s room.
As she walked past Charles’s room, she noticed the door was left a crack open.

Instinctively, Teresa peeked inside. Charles was already dressed, standing with his back to the door, while Naomi was in front of him, tying his tie. He even bent down a little so she could reach.
Teresa hurriedly averted her gaze after jus
just a quick peek.
As she made her way downstairs, she still felt a bit down. She could tie a tie just fine too, but Charles never asked her to do it. He never liked people touching him, but when it came to Naomi, he was willing to let go of all his rules.
As she reached the bottom of the stairs, Sharon noticed Teresa looking lost in thought and called out, “Mrs. Logan?”
Teresa glanced up at her, forcing a smile. “Sharon, I’m off to work.”
Sharon quickly asked, “Aren’t you going to have any breakfast, Mrs. Logan?”
Teresa replied, “No, there’s no time.” She had already spent too much time waiting for Yolanda. She had woken up early and rushed over, but in the end, it seemed Yolanda didn’t even need her there. Thinking about it, she felt a pang of hurt.
As Teresa pulled into the hospital parking lot and parked, she heard Hector call out, “Teresa.”
She turned and saw Hector in casual clothes, his handsome features, and a height that made him stand out in any crowd. Guys this handsome were a rare sight in the medical world.
“Hector,” Teresa called back in greeting.
They walked over to the elevator together, and while they waited, Hector asked, “Got any plans tonight? Want to grab dinner?”
Thinking about how Yolanda didn’t really need her, Teresa agreed. “Yeah, I’m free.”
Hector smiled. “Great. I’ll swing by after work to pick you up.”
Teresa was about to say she could manage on her own, but Hector added, “And there’s someone else who’ll be joining us.”
“Who?” Teresa asked, curious.
But Hector just grinned and kept her guessing. “Wait till tonight and you’ll see for yourself.”
Teresa had been feeling down, but Hector’s playful vibe made her chuckle. “Come on, Hector, why are you being so secretive with me?”
Hector just smiled, leaving her hanging.
When the elevator arrived, they stepped inside together. At the first floor, a crowd squeezed in, and Hector moved in front of Teresa, wrapping an arin protectively around her.
It was rush hour, and the elevator was so packed that Teresa was practically pressed up against Hector’s chest.
As the elevator ascended, Teresa could hear Hector’s heartbeat pounding, so fast it sounded like it might burst right out of his chest. She glanced up and saw Hector’s jaw clenched tightly, his cheeks visibly flushed.
When Hector lowered his head, he found Teresa gazing up at him, their eyes meeting. In that brief moment, Hector’s heart raced wildly.
Thankfully, the elevator stopped at her department right then. Teresa quietly reminded him, “Hector, this is my stop.”
“Oh, okay. Hector hurried to make way for her.
At 5:30 PM, Hector arrived at Teresa’s department. Teresa was still working, updating patient files, when a patient’s family called our, asking her to come take a look.
Hector quickly grabbed a white coat and said, “I’ll take care of the patient. You finish up the records.”

With Hector pitching in, Teresa only had to stay an extra ten minutes to wrap things up.
When they got to the restaurant Hector had reserved, it was already 6:30. Since the other guest hadn’t arrived yet, Hector said they should wait in the lobby.
Hector understood–her husband was having dinner with another woman, and on top of that, they’d ended up taking the guest who was supposed to join her and Hector.
Cedric gave Charles and Jason a quick glance, then fixed his gaze on Naomi.
Naoum felt the intensity of his piercing look and grew nervous. “Professor Judd,” she said, her voice a lule shaky
Cedric shot her a look and said, “Sit down. What are you staring at me for?”
Naomi met his gaze and said. “You should sit too, Professor Judd”
Cedric didn’t respond and just sat down.
At that moment, Charles signaled to the waiter to start bringing out the dishes.

But Cedric turned to Charles and said. “By the way, I’m short on time–twenty minutes, tops. Whatever you need, just get to the point. I’ve got another dinner to get to, and I can’t keep people waiting.”
Even though Cedric was smiling, it was obvious he wasn’t giving Charles and Jason any respect at all.
Charles stayed calm, but Jason’s smile had already faded.
Naomi sat beside Charles, and she couldn’t even bring herself to look at Cedric.
Charles knew Naomi was nervous around Cedric, so he cut to the chase, “Professor Judd, I’ll be upfront. Naomi has a few questions she’d like to ask you.”
Cedric glanced over at Naomi and said, “Just spit it out.”
Even with Charles right there, Cedric’s tone was still pretty frosty.
Naomi looked up, her voice trembling as she met Cedric’s gaze. “Professor Judd, I’ve combed through tons of research papers, but I still can’t find a valuable or feasible topic. Could you please give me some guidance?”
