Chapter 154
Teresa realized Jason was standing up for Naomi.
With a hint of disdain in her voice, Teresa said, “No.”
Jason raised an eyebrow, shooting Teresa a curious look.
In his mind, Teresa had always acted humble around him, never trying to stand out. But now, she was bold enough to look him straight in the eye.
Jason took a couple more steps forward, his imposing frame looming over Teresa and casting her completely in shadow. He didn’t mince words, going straight for it. “Charles has always loved Naomi. Are you still not planning to give up your place?”
Teresa didn’t back down. She met Jason’s gaze head–on and said, “I’m not giving up my place. So what are you gonna do about it?”
Jason couldn’t help but laugh at Teresa’s proud and unyielding stance.
He let out a couple of sharp laughs, then suddenly cut it off and sneered, “The Sullivan Family is just low–class–no better than Yvonne.”
There was obvious sarcasm shining in Jason’s eyes.
Teresa’s anger flared up at his words. She shouted at Jason, “What did you just say?”
Jason, hands in his pockets, spoke with absolute arrogance. “I said you and Yvonne are both trash. Born pathetic.”
He raised an eyebrow and sneered, “Did you hear me? If you didn’t, I can repeat…
Before he could finish, Teresa raised her hand and slapped Jason hard across the face. “Shut up!”
Jason’s face was knocked to the side. He worked his jaw with his tongue, trying to ease the numbness, as blood oozed from the corner of his mouth.
Teresa felt her whole palm go numb. She’d hit him hard.
Her voice was steady but cold as she spoke to Jason, “Say whatever you want about me, but you don’t get to talk about Yvonne. You have no right.”
Jason swiped the blood away from the corner of his mouth with his thumb, then glanced down at the smear of red on his finger.
He stared at it for a moment, then let out a sudden laugh.

When he looked back at Teresa, his voice dripped with mockery. “Am I wrong? She stripped naked right in front of me, tried to get me into bed, and begged me to sleep with her. Tell me, isn’t that just cheap?”
Teresa glared at Jason, refusing to back down. “No way. Yvonne’s not that kind of person.”
Jason laughed even harder, his tone dripping with mockery. “Is that so?”
Teresa shot back, “Cut the crap. You think I’d ever buy your lies?”
Jason just sneered, switching gears without bothering to answer her. “A woman who’s already been married? No matter how gorgeous, she’s just secondhand. Easy pickings, but honestly, there’s no excitement at all. All that beauty, totally wasted. So damn dull.”
Teresa couldn’t stand it anymore. She tried to slap him again, but this time Jason was faster. He caught her wrist in a crushing grip.
His gaze was icy and chilling as he stared her down, and she glared right back, her eyes blazing with fury.
Teresa shot back, “Jason, stop slandering Yvonne. She’s not that kind of woman.”
Jason just shrugged, leuing out a low, mocking laugh. “Slandering? Please. If anything, I’d rather be… going down on your sister–in–law… you get the idea.”
He purposely left the last word hanging, but Teresa knew exactly what he was implying.

Chapter 154
She was so furious she could barely breathe.
Teresa snapped. She kicked, punched, and even went for a headbutt.
But Jason wasn’t about to let her touch him. With a rough, merciless shove, he sent her sprawling across the floor.
Teresa was sent crashing to the ground, but she glared up at Jason, defiant. He looked down at her and said coldly, “Teresa, do yourself a favor and step aside for Naomi. This seat was never meant for you.”
With that, Jason strode off without a backward glance, leaving Teresa on the floor.
Teresa lay sprawled on the floor, her old dog bite wound split open again, and she could feel the blood trickling out.
She didn’t really care about herself, but what Jason said about Yvonne really pissed her off.
But going up against Jason was like trying to take on a mountain. She didn’t stand a chance.
Right then, Teresa’s phone started ringing.
Her phone was lying on the floor, and when she glanced over, she saw it was Charles calling.
She didn’t really want to answer, but she picked up right before it stopped ringing.
Charles didn’t ask where she was. In a businesslike tone, he said, “You’ll have to get home by yourself. The others are at the hospital. I’ve already left. Something came up, so I had to go.”
Teresa knew he was heading back to spend time with Yolanda and Naomi, but she had no idea what to say.
She was at a loss for words.
Teresa didn’t call back. She quietly put her phone away and tidied herself up.
After making sure she looked normal, she finally left the hospital.
When Teresa got back to the Sullivan Mansion, she saw Yvonne sitting in the living room, looking like she was waiting for her or maybe Theodore.
Every time she thought about what Jason said, it just hurt inside.
Yvonne was a good person, and Teresa would never buy into Jason’s lies about her.
Standing just outside the foyer, Teresa steadied herself with a couple of deep breaths before finally stepping inside.
Yvonne heard footsteps and looked up. When she saw Teresa, her face lit up with a smile. “Teresa, you’re back.”
Teresa walked over, smiling, and asked, “Yvonne, why are you still up so late?”
Yvonne was dressed to go out. Normally, by this hour, she’d be washed up and ready for her beauty sleep.
But tonight, she hadn’t even changed into her pajamas yet.
Yvonne smiled and said, Your brother’s still working overtime at the office, so I was about to head over and check on him. I’m not sure if I’ll make it back tonight, so could you help me out and drop Monica off at school tomorrow morning?”
It was really late, and Teresa couldn’t help but worry about Yvonne. She blurted out, “Let me go with you.”
Yvonne saw the concern on Teresa’s face and reached out to gently touch her cheek. “Don’t worry. I’ll be fine. Monica’s still home. If she wakes up and we’re both gone, she’ll freak our.
Teresa tried again, “Yvonne, I…
Yvonne interrupted her, “Enough, I’m heading out now. Go upstairs, wash up, and stay with Monica.”
After Yvonne left the living room, Teresa lingered for a bit, still uneasy. She couldn’t shake off her worry, so she hurried after her.
When she got outside the mansion, she caught Yvonne just as she was getting into a car.
Yvonne took the back seat, and as the car drove off, Teresa managed to spot who was behind the wheel.
If she remembered correctly, she had met this person before. He seemed
to
be Jason’s assistant.
‘Why would Yvonne be getting into Jason’s assistant’s car at this hour?‘ Teresa wondered, her mind racing.
Wait, was Jason actually telling the truth?‘ The thought hit her out of nowhere.
But it was impossible. Teresa simply refused to believe it.
On her way back, Teresa ended up calling Theodore.
When he picked up, she asked, “Theodore, are you coming home tonight?”
There was a pause before Theodore replied, “I’ll be really late.”
Teresa said, “I’ll wait for you, no matter how long it takes.”
Theodore paused for a moment, then said firmly, “Just go to bed. Don’t wait up for me.”
His tone was so stern that Teresa lost the nerve to argue back.
After hanging up, Teresa just stood there for a while, lost in thought.
She couldn’t wrap her head around why Yvonne would get into Jason’s assistant’s car so late at night.
But Teresa trusted Yvonne. She was sure Yvonne would never be anything like what Jason accused her of.
Teresa, went back to her room, and after her shower, she saw a message from Wendy.
It said, “Teresa, someone made Yvonne drink.”
There was also a photo attached.
The photo showed a VIP lounge, with Jason and several other men hanging around.
Teresa panicked and shot a message to Wendy, “Where is this place? How did you get this photo?”
Wendy replied, “I’ll send you the address. A friend of mine who’s a waiter took it. I saw Yvonne there and got worried, so I asked him to snap a photo.”
