As Troy strolled by with the actress on his arm, Teresa was absorbed in her phone, while Hector quietly poured her a cup of hot water.
Once the cup was full, Hector slid it in front of Teresa and said, “Riverdale’s pretty dry. Have some hot water–it’ll soothe your throat.”
Only then did Teresa look up at Hector, her lips curving into a gentle smile. “Thanks, Hector. You’re always so considerate.”
Troy held the actress tightly by the waist, and whether he was dragging their steps on purpose or they were just glued together, the two of them took their sweet time crossing the floor.
When they passed by Teresa’s table, Troy didn’t rush to sit down. Instead, he lingered there, shamelessly flirting with the actress in full view of everyone, like he wanted to make a whole show out of it.
The restaurant was packed with people, but Troy couldn’t care less. His hand stayed snug on the actress’s waist as she nestled into his chest, both of them acting like they were the only ones in the room.
“Mr. Hamilton, you’re so naughty,” the actress teased, her voice sultry. “Holding me so tight… aren’t you afraid I’ll end up soaking wet?”
She was completely uninhibited, every word a clear invitation, not even trying to hide how much she was flirting.
At the same time, her hand boldly lingered across Troy’s abs.
The smirk at Troy’s lips deepened as he gazed down at her. “With you pressed up against me like this, who else could be melting but you?”
He let out a loud, unrestrained laugh, obviously loving every second of it.
They were right in front of Teresa, every word of their conversation floating easily to her ears.
Hector noticed Teresa pressing her lips together. He lifted his hand and gently touched her forehead, his voice full of concern. “What’s wrong? Are you not feeling well?”
Teresa shook her head, managing a small smile. “No, really. I’m okay.”
Hector could see she wasn’t truly fine, but he didn’t think it had anything to do with Troy.
‘Honestly, it’s not like I care that much about Troy anymore, Teresa thought. ‘What cracks me up is realizing I actually let myself get all emotional because of something he did.
‘I was so sure from the very beginning that Troy was just playing a game, yet somehow, I still fell for it in the end,‘ she reflected wryly. ‘Looking back, I’m more annoyed at myself for being so clueless than anything else, Teresa admitted to herself, a trace of self–mockery in her mind.
After their shameless flirting, Troy and the actress finally took their seats right in Teresa’s front left–close enough that she couldn’t help
but notice.
From Teresa’s angle, she had a clear line of sight to every little move they made–nothing escaped her.
Even if she wasn’t trying to pay attention, she’d still catch glimpses of them out of the corner of her eye.
As soon as they sat down, the actress stuck to Troy like chewing gum on his shoe–she just couldn’t keep her hands off him.
Troy started ordering, pointing at each dish on the menu, asking her one after another, “Do you want this?”
The actress just shook her head at anything she didn’t care for, and if something caught her eye, she’d nod like it was the best thing ever.
A job that should’ve taken ten minutes somehow managed to drag on for a whole half hour, with her fussing over every single choice.
The waiter just had to stand by and suffer in silence, waiting it out.
By the time Troy and his girlfriend finally wrapped up their never–ending order, Teresa and Hector were already halfway through their
meal.
Hector ladled out a bowl of pork rib soup for Teresa, placed it gently in front of her, and smiled softly. “You’ve gotten skinnier lately. Try to eat a bit more, okay?”

Hector kept piling food onto her plate, and before she knew it, her bowl was overflowing. “Hector, stop treating me like a pig,” she teased.
She meant it as a joke, but Hector took it to heart. “You’re not a pig,” he said, completely serious. “You’re cute. And beautiful, too.”
Teresa’s ears burned red hot at his words.
Hector was honest to a fault–he just never joked about these things.
Teresa couldn’t help but cringe at how she’d just blurted that out.
Over at Troy’s table, the waiter finally brought out their food.
Once their dishes were served, the actress curled right into Troy’s arms, her voice sugary and full of playful whine. “I want you to feed me, Troy. Will you? Pretty please?”
With a big grin, Troy glanced down at her. “Say ‘husband, and I’ll feed you myself.”
The actress’s cheeks flushed red. She gave Mr. Hamilton’s chest a playful tap, her voice low and teasing. “Oh, Mr. Hamilton, you’re so naughty naughty! Didn’t I call you that plenty of times last night in bed?”
Troy dipped his head, giving her a tender kiss on the forehead. “I want to hear it again. Come on, say it for me once more.”
The actress straightened up, leaned close to his ear, and softly breathed, “Husband.”
Hearing that, Troy gave her waist a teasing squeeze, his voice thick with affection. “Damn, Sweetheart, you sound amazing when me that.”

She just got a little lost for a while because he could be so good to her sometimes.
When they got to the cashier, Teresa quickly brought up her payment code, ready to settle the bill herself. But Hector covered her phone with his hand before she could scan it. “Teresa, let me take care of this.”
Teresa immediately protested–she’d promised to treat him to dinner, Playfully reaching for his phone, she insisted, “Hector, come on. I said this meal’s on me. Let me pay!”
As Hector tugged his phone away, Teresa lunged forward to grab it, but his quick movement threw her off balance and sent her stumbling right towards him:
She ended up falling straight into his arms, her hand splayed across his chest.
Without thinking, Hector caught her and held her close, his hand automatically finding her waist to steady her.
Hector lowered his head, worry etched in his voice. “Teresa, are you alright?”

At this point, the last thing on Teresa’s mind was the bill–she just wanted to escape from his arms as soon as possible.
She nodded in a hurry. “Okay.”
Hector smiled and let her go, handing his phone over to the cashier to pay.
After the payment was done, he turned to Teresa. “Come on, I’ll get you home.”
But Teresa was spacing out and didn’t catch a word he said.
Noticing she didn’t respond, Hector just gave her a soft smile, took her gently by the arm, and walked her out of the restaurant.
As soon as Teresa and Hector stood up to leave, Troy unwrapped his arm from around the actress’s waist and didn’t bother feeding her anymore.
He just sat there, eyes fixed on the table piled with food, a cold look settling over his face–completely silent.
The actress caught his mood and stayed quiet, not daring to say a single word.
It wasn’t until Hector’s voice called out from the door-“Are you okay?“—that Troy snapped his head around, only Hector’s arms.

Jealousy flared up in his eyes, burning hot and wild. The chopsticks in his hand, the ones he’d just been using to feed the actress, cracked in two with a vicious snap.
Bamboo splinters jabbed brutally into his flesh as the chopsticks broke.
