Teresa stared at Troy’s mischievous grin but didn’t say anything back.

He was smiling, but Teresa thought his smile seemed a bit forced.

When she didn’t answer, Troy scooted closer, gently rubbing his shoulder against hers, his voice turning playful and whiny. “Come on, just tell me, do I look like that or not?”

Teresa turned her head away, spotting people lining up at the entrance to get their tickets checked.

She stood up and said to Troy, “Come on, they’re starting to let people in.”

Troy glanced over and saw that a few couples had already gone through.

Seeing Teresa eager to get inside, Troy reluctantly got to his feet.

He carried the popcorn and milk tea, while Teresa held onto their movie tickets.

After having their tickets checked, the two of them found their theater, then made their way to their seats.

As they sat down. Troy realized that in front of them, behind them, and on both sides were couples–everywhere he looked, it was pairs.

Noticing this, a faint smile tugged at his lips.

Once the movie started, the whole theater went quiet.

Troy had picked out the tickets himself, following advice he found online he’d made sure to choose a horror flick.

He was already picturing Teresa getting scared and diving into his arms, giving him the perfect excuse to hold her close and maybe get a little handsy.

Just imagining it made Troy almost giddy, and he even let out a sly little snicker.

Hearing him snicker, Teresa glanced over, looking a bit confused. “What’s up?” she whispered.

Troy shot her a sly grin. “You’ll find out soon enough.”

Seeing him acting all mysterious, Teresa just let it go and didn’t ask any more.

After the commercials finished rolling, the movie kicked off.

Just a few minutes in, scary and bloody scenes started popping up on the screen.

The truth was, Troy couldn’t care less about what was happening in the movie–his eyes were glued to Teresa the whole time, watching every little reaction she had.

He was shocked by how eerily calm Teresa was, even when the most brutal, horrifying scenes played out.

Even if she got scared for a moment, she would just close her eyes–never once did she try to hide in his arms.

Up in the front row, a girl was basically plastered to her boyfriend, frightened out of her mind.

The guy took full advantage, pulling her close and soothing her, repeating, “It’s okay, it’s okay.”

Next to them, another girl shrank into her boyfriend’s arms, and he wrapped her up, even stealing a quick kiss.

In that big movie theater, everyone else was busy with their own business but Teresa sat there with zen–like calm, her eyes glued to the

Teresa noticed him scooting over and looked at him with a curious smirk. “Wait–you’re scared?”

Troy shot her a glare, sounding annoyed. “Who, me? Scared? Give me a break.”

Teresa glanced down at his hand, which was clinging to her sleeve.

Noticing, Troy immediately loosened his grip bit by bit.

The movie kept playing, but Troy wasn’t really paying attention anymore.

Teresa, meanwhile, was actually getting excited–totally absorbed in the film.

Troy sat there, completely on edge, like he was on pins and needles the whole time.

All he wanted was to get out of that theater as soon as possible.

Trying to shake off his frustration, Troy pulled out his phone and looked down at the screen. It just so happened to be a sweet photo of him and Teresa together.

Even though things hadn’t gone the way he’d pictured them, just seeing that photo still filled him with this soft, warm feeling

He opened up Twitter and shared the movie tickets, the popcorn, and the pic with Teresa–all together in one post.

He watched Teresa, who was so into the movie, and figured he’d just let her be for now–it wasn’t the time to interrupt her.

Having Teresa by his side–that was all he really cared about.

Meanwhile, Jason was hanging out with Finn when he spotted the tweet pop up on his phone.

When he saw that the girl in the photo with Troy was Teresa, Jason practically exploded. Under his breath, he snapped, “Seriously? So shameless.”

Finn Look the phone, glanced at the photo, then handed it back to Jason with a grin. “They actually make a great couple, don’t you think?”

Finn chuckled, clearly amused. “What’s not to like about them?”

jason glared at him, frustrated Seriously, whose friend are you?”

Finn sighed and shook his head “Hey, I’m just saying what I see

Jason didn’t want to argue with Finn, so he just shrugged it off. “Forget it. I’m not gonna fight about dus. Charles is Naomi’s, and whoever Teresa ends up with that’s got nothing to do with mir

Jason rolled his eyes as he put away his phone. “Just stay out of it.”

But then, his phone screen lit up with a notification.

Charles instinctively glanced e

But what popped up on the screen was a picture of Teresa and Troy, snuggled up together like a couple.

That was the last straw for Charles–he gripped his phone until his knuckles turned white, hands trembling uncontrollably.

After turning off the screen, he looked back at Yolanda, lying in the hospital bed, so tiny and frail.

Just thinking about it tore Charles‘ heart apart.

He ran a hand over Yolanda’s head, then abruptly rose to his feet, his fury barely contained.

He was heading for the door when Naomi walked in.

Noticing Charles’s tense expression as he was about to leave, Naomi couldn’t help but ask, “Hey Charles, what’s wrong? Are you heading

out?”

Charles looked up at her, his face cold and distant. “Just stay here with Yolanda. I need to go out for a bit.”

Naomi looked confused, her brow furrowing. Charles, it’s so late—where are you going?

Charles didn’t even glance her way, his voice icy. “I’m going to bring Yolanda’s mom here.”

With that, he stormed out of the room.

Naomi stood there, watching Charles walk away, her emotions in complete turmoil.

Not long ago, Charles had been seriously talking to her about getting married.

And now, It seemed like all of a sudden he was starting to care about Teresa again.

Insecurity flooded Naomi’s heart, swallowing her up in a cold rush.
