Chapter 61
Teresa just shook her head. “No,” she replied, her tone cold, clearly in a bad mood.
Troy knew exactly why she was upset–because Charles and Naomi were sitting nearby. He leaned in close, lowering his voice. “So, honey, do you prefer being on top or bottom?”
Teresa immediately straightened up, her face flushed, glaring at him. “You—”
Troy straightened up as well, a playful smirk spreading across his face. But then his tone shifted, suddenly serious. “See? You’re overthinking it.”
Teresa let out a quiet sigh of relief, but before she could relax, Troy leaned in again, so close that his lips almost brushed her cheek. With the same teasing tone, he whispered, “So, do you like being on top, or do you prefer the bottom?”
“Troy,” Teresa pointed at him, her finger trembling with anger.
Troy laughed, catching her finger and gently pressing it against his chest. He locked eyes with her, his gaze intense. “You can’t judge a man just by looking at him. You need to feel it.
“A man’s worth isn’t just about appearances–it’s about what you experience with him. Don’t you agree, honey?” He leaned in even closer, practically pressing his body against hers, studying every flicker of emotion on her face.
Teresa’s face was burning red, the heat spreading to her ears and neck. She refused to look at him, instead pretending to be engrossed in the host on stage. But honestly, she didn’t catch a single word the host was saying.
Meanwhile, Charles leaned back, casually listening to the host’s introduction, occasionally whispering to Naomi, which drew whispers from those around them.
But as he spoke with Naomi, Charles happened to glance over and saw Teresa and Troy sitting closely together. Troy was practically glued to her side, and her flushed face and the way Troy held her hand against his chest made it clear–they looked like a couple.
Charles assumed they were. A strange feeling of unease flickered within him, but before he could dwell on it, the host introduced the next item–a stunning emerald bracelet.
Naomi’s eyes lit up. “Charles, this bracelet is beautiful.”
Charles snapped out of his thoughts and glanced at the bracelet on stage. He had no interest in admiring it—he just felt frustrated.
“Charles?” Naomi nudged his elbow when he didn’t respond.
Charles finally snapped out of it, forcing a smile. “Yeah?”
Naomi nudged him, nodding toward the stage. “Do you think that bracelet looks good?”
Charles replied, “Yeah, it looks great.” The bracelet was indeed beautiful–perfectly crafted with no flaws, shining like it was worth a fortune.
Teresa, noticing the bracelet as well, had maintained a composed, almost cold expression until it came into view. The moment she saw it, her eyes lit up.
Troy caught every little reaction from her face and instantly realized she was interested in the bracelet.
When the host announced the starting price, Troy immediately raised his paddle and called out, “Ten million.” The starting price was five million, and Troy had added another five million without hesitation.
At his bid, everyone else froze, too intimidated to raise their paddles.
Teresa quickly turned to him, trying to stop him. “Troy, I don’t need jewelry like this. Put the paddle down.”
As she reached for the paddle, Troy held it high above her head, out of her reach.
To everyone else, it looked like an intimate exchange between a couple in love.
Of course, Charles and Naomi both noticed their lovey dovey flirting.
Troy saw them looking over, so he leaned in close to Teresa’s canand whispered. “They just looked at you

At the same time, out of the corner of her eye, Teresa caught Naomi leaning over to say something to Charles. They weren’t that far away, but the place was pretty noisy, so she couldn’t hear what they were saying.
But right as the auctioneer was about to bring the hammer down, Charles suddenly raised his paddle and called out, “Fifteen million.”
“Yeah, seriously, it’s not like Charles or Troy are ever short on cash,” another person agreed.
Just as the countdown was about to end, Troy shot his paddle up high. “Twenty million.”
The two were locked in a heated, silent rivalry.
As the bids escalated, Teresa started feeling uneasy. She grabbed Troy’s arm, looking at him with a pleading expression. “Troy, please stop bidding.”
Troy, glancing at her, smiled and patted her arm gently. “As long as you like it, it’s worth it.”
With that, he raised his paddle again.
The room fell into an eerie silence as the bidding war between Troy and Charles continued.
Teresa could hear the rapid beating of her own heart, worried that Troy might blow a fortune on the bracelet, no matter if it was to one- up Charles or because he saw how much she liked it. Either way, it just wasn’t worth all this trouble.
In the end, a bracelet worth only five million was bid all the way up to one hundred million.
Charles kept raising the stakes, but Troy was starting to get visibly impatient.
Teresa had hoped he would give up. Spending so much on something so unnecessary just didn’t make sense. Troy was a businessman. He knew when to stop.
Teresa understood that Charles was bidding out of his desire to please Naomi, to get her something she liked, no matter the cost.
If Naomi wanted it, Teresa figured, Charles would do whatever it took to make it happen. Even if it reached a billion, Charles would likel
