Chapter 69
In front of the entire Logan family, Richard lost his temper with Andrew, humiliating him in front of everyone.
Still young and hot–headed, Andrew, his pride wounded, slammed his fork down, stood up abruptly, and stormed out of the hall without a word.
Roselyn immediately stood up as well. “Andrew!” She called out to Andrew as she hurried after him.
Richard, seeing this, snapped, “No one is to follow him. If anyone dares to chase after him, they’ll never be allowed back at Logan Manor.”
Roselyn hesitated but ultimately pulled her foot back and stayed where she was. Out of respect for Richard, and because Zack valued his opinion, she didn’t disobey.
Once Roselyn stopped, Richard went on, “We’ve spoiled him too much, treated him like he can do no wrong.”
Teresa sat quietly at the table, not touching her food, not saying a word. Charles and Serena were just as silent.
Zack, trying to smooth things over, said, “Dad, don’t let a kid get to you. It’s your birthday, let’s just enjoy the meal.”
Richard took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. He turned to Teresa, his voice softening. “Teresa, eat up. Have some more.”
Teresa looked up at him, her face lighting up with a smile. “Thank you, Richard.”
After Andrew left, the family went back to eating. But this time, no one said a word. They just ate in silence, and the atmosphere grew strangely uneasy.
Throughout the meal, Teresa could feel Roselyn’s eyes on her from time to time, as if silently warning her to wait for what was coming. But Teresa didn’t care what Roselyn thought. Teresa ignored her completely, not even bothering to look her way.

After they finished the birthday noodles, Richard wiped his mouth and looked at Teresa and Charles. “Teresa, Charles, why don’t you both stay here tonight? I’ve already had Susan get the rooms upstairs ready for you.”
Teresa was about to say no, but Charles spoke up first. “Grandpa, you should ask Teresa. Let her decide.”
His words sounded sweet, as though they were a close couple, but Teresa quickly understood his true intention. He was avoiding directly rejecting Richard’s request, so he pushed the decision onto her. If she said no, Richard wouldn’t force it.
For some reason, the refusal she had planned to say shifted after hearing Charles. “If Richard wants us to stay, then we’ll stay.”
She looked up at Charles as she spoke, a faint smile on her face. There was a glimmer of something mysterious in her eyes–impossible to decipher.
Charles met her gaze, catching her deliberate playfulness, but instead of getting annoyed, he just smiled and said, “Alright, whatever you say.”
His easy agreement pleased Richard, who smiled contentedly. “Alright, it’s settled then. I need to get some rest, so I’m heading to bed.” Once everything was arranged, Richard stood up with the help of his cane.
Zack stood up too. “Dad, let me walk you back to your room.”
But Richard shook his head. “No need, let Teresa do it.” He turned to Teresa, “Teresa, come here and help me.”
Teresa hurried to his side to steady Richard, and together, they left the dining room.
Once they reached Richard’s room. Teresa helped him sit down. Just as she was about to leave, Richard suddenly asked, “Teresa, be honest with me, Has Charles been bullying you?”
Teresa felt touched by his concern, but she didn’t think it was necessary to make a big deal out of things.
She had already decided to divorce Charles, and whether he had treated her well or not didn’t seem important anymore. So, Teresa said. *Richard, Charles hasn’t bullied me.”
Richard clearly didn’t believe her. Don’t try to fool me. I’ve lived long enough to know when something’s off”
But no matter how much he parsed. Teresa just insisted, “Richard, Charles is good to me. He really hasn’t bullied me”

Chapter 69
Richard wasn’t sure whether she was telling the truth or putting on a brave face, but he genuinely felt for her. He decided not to press her further. He gently patted her head and said, “You’ve been through a lot.”
Teresa smiled and shook her head. “Richard, I’m really okay.”
Richard realized he wasn’t going to get any answers out of her, so he let her go.
After leaving Richard’s room, Teresa saw Charles waiting by the door. He had a cigarette in his hand, though it wasn’t lit. Leaning against the railing, his brows were furrowed in frustration.
When he saw Teresa, he straightened up and said, “Come outside with me.” His voice was cold, not a trace of warmth.
Teresa wondered if he was looking for trouble, especially since it was her who had agreed to stay with Richard. She knew Charles didn’t want to share a room with her.
Charles didn’t give her a chance to ask any questions. He just turned and walked out of the hall, and Teresa had no choice but to follow him.
Once they were outside Logan Manor, Teresa’s expression turned cold, her voice wary. “Charles, whatever you want to say, just say it here.”
That was odd–Andrew usually picked up when Charles called, even if he didn’t want to.
Teresa finally understood. Charles was worried about Andrew. But she remained calm and replied, “He’s an adult. He’s responsible for his actions. If he can’t handle a few words, then his mental toughness isn’t that strong.”
Seeing how cold she was, Charles’s tone turned sharp. “If something happens to him tonight, can you take the blame?”
Teresa fell silent, thinking over what had happened that night. If she had made a mistake, it was letting herself get worked up over an adult child. But she didn’t really feel like she had done anything wrong.
Right now, though, arguing about who was right or wrong didn’t matter. What mattered most was finding Andrew.
Teresa didn’t want to get involved, but this was about a person’s life. So she asked Charles, “Can Liam figure out where Andrew is?”
Charles shook his head. “I’ve already had Liam try, but nothing’s come up so far.”
Teresa sighed, feeling helpless. “So, where does he usually go?”
Charles thought for a moment before saying, “Get in the car.”
The car was parked by the side of the road. Charles opened the passenger door and motioned for Teresa to get in. Without thinking too much, Teresa got in.
The car headed straight for downtown Riverdale and stopped outside one of the hottest bars in town.
Charles was anxious, clearly worried about Andrew’s safety. He rushed ahead, but noticing Teresa lagging behind, he turned back and grabbed her arm. “Stay close to me!”

Charles stopped and turned to face her as she continued to follow. As they got closer, Teresa’s head accidentally bumped into his chest. She felt the solid, masculine lines of his body, and her face turned red instantly.
Charles looked down at her. “Andrew’s missing. I’ve been calling him, but he won’t answer.”
