You Looked Down on Me Once, Now You Look Up. novel Chapter 202

“Well, aren’t you something, Miss.”

“They actually call you ‘Miss’? What a joke. You’re ruthless, heartless—you’ll wait years just to get what you want, pulling everyone’s strings the whole time. You’re a lunatic.”

Patricia just smirked. “You know I’m crazy, and you still mess with me? That’s on you.” She absentmindedly traced her nail. “Speaking of Joseph…”

Ruby’s face went pale. “What are you talking about?”

“Why don’t you use that tiny brain of yours and figure it out?” Patricia checked the clock and stood up, towering over Ruby. “I’ll be waiting for the day you’re gone.”

“In your dreams.”

“You’re crippled. What have you got left to fight me with?”

The words hit Ruby so hard she actually flinched.

She’d said those exact same words once, not so long ago.

“Patricia!”

Patricia’s eyes narrowed. “Didn’t you always love taking everything from me? My car, my house, my jewelry, my designer stuff—you wanted it all. Well, now you can have my pain too.”

“Life’s fair. When one window opens, a door slams shut somewhere else.”

“Patricia! Don’t you dare walk away!”

Ruby clung to the bed, screaming, desperate to tear Patricia apart.

Patricia just answered with the sharp slam of the door.

She stepped out of the hospital room, where Jackson was waiting to hand her a wet wipe.

Patricia wiped her fingertips, calm as ever. “Did you get it?”

Jackson nodded. “Yeah, it’s done.”

Aiden glanced over. “What did you buy?”

Jackson shot him a look. “Not your problem.”

Jackson sped all the way home, and by the time they pulled up to Cloud Peak, it was past eight.

The car had barely stopped when Sara came flying out the front door.

“Aunt Patricia, help! It’s urgent!”

“Colton’s dying!”

“Hurry, please!”
