Third Person’s POV

Ellen was already struggling against one assassin, the aura from his opponent making the gland on the back of his neck numb.
It wasn’t until two members of the guard came to help that he managed to hold his ground.
The other eighteen guards were fighting four assassins and were still having a hard time.
If the guards weren’t elite, some would have already fallen.
After a moment of grappling, the fight was stuck in a stalemate.
Adelaide was starting to show signs of fatigue against the five assailants. Her cedarwood scent was a little chaotic, but she held the line stubbornly, not letting the assassins get an inch closer to the vehicle.
Her wolf was howling restlessly in her mind, constantly telling her that something was off with the assassins.
She could only push herself, her claws turning white from the strain.
Ellen glanced back, confusion in his eyes. He had seen Adelaide’s fighting power at the Southern Border. She shouldn’t be struggling this much against five assassins.
But he was tied up and couldn’t get free to help. He could only watch as Adelaide’s movements slowed by a half–second.
The guards fighting the four assassins were in danger several times, the assassins‘ claws grazing their chests.
And with that, there were only five guards left protecting the car, and the scent barrier was much weaker.
Ellen suddenly realized something was wrong.
The assassins were either going for a suicidal attack or leaping up frequently to observe–they seemed to be looking for a weakness, or waiting for a signal to retreat.
He was suddenly alarmed and yelled out, “They aren’t here to rescue her. They’re here to kill
her!”

The moment he said it, one assassin suddenly broke free, their scent exploding in a frenzy.
Their legs shifted instantly. The thick, muscular wolf legs kicked off the ground and they sprinted toward the car.
Ellen’s pupils contracted, but it was too late to help. The moment the claw ripped through the window curtain, a woman’s scream came from inside the car.
As the scream pierced the air, the nine assassins immediately jumped up and scattered in different directions.
Ellen was now certain of his guess.
They definitely weren’t here to rescue Madison; they were here to kill her.
But when he looked at the car, he completely froze.
The assassin who charged the car had been pulled inside. Only their legs were sticking out of the car, clearly immobilized.
Adelaide walked over, smiling, and pulled back the car curtain.
Ellen leaned closer and was stunned. How was Lance inside the car?
Next to Lance, Madison was securely tied to one side of the vehicle. The scream had come
from her.
Her eyes were fierce, staring deadly at the immobilized assassin.
Lance grabbed the assassin and pulled him out of the car, handing him to Ellen. “Take him back to the Ministry of Justice. He’s been neutralized and can’t move, and the poison capsule in his mouth has been removed, but don’t let your guard down. Once you get back, inject him with a muscle relaxant. Rogues who are willing to be disposable killers like this might try to hurt their own vital organs, not just use poison.”
Ellen immediately had people take control of the assassin,
He looked at Lance with confusion. When did Lance get in the car? The car was empty except for Madison when they left the Ministry of Justice, and guards were escorting it the whole way.
“Gamma Adelaide, what the hell is going on?” Ellen couldn’t help but ask.
“Get him back to the Ministry of Justice first. I’ll explain later,” Adelaide said.
She turned to Lance and gave him a triumphant fist bump.

She smiled. “You head back to the Ministry of Justice first. I’ll ride in the car with the team.”
“Good. The rest is up to you.”
Lance glanced at Madison.
Madison immediately stared back coldly, gritting her teeth. “You think this will make me confess?”
Lance chuckled and leaned in close to her ear. “Whether you confess or not doesn’t matter at all. Our goal was to catch an assassin and make a certain someone more terrified. To be honest, I already know who that person is.”
Madison showed no surprise, just a dismissive curl of her lip.
She mocked, “So what? Go tell Lycan Erasmus. Show him the evidence.”
“You’ll see the result yourself,” Lance smiled and sped off on his motorcycle.
Adelaide got into the car, urging Ellen, “Let’s go! Hurry!”
Ellen got on his motorcycle and continued to lead the convoy.
Inside the car, Madison glared at Adelaide.
This was the first time she’d been alone with Adelaide since her arrest.
