Third Person’s POV

Adelaide knew Madison understood she was a dead woman walking.

Even if she lived, with her pampered personality, she couldn’t handle the torture from the Ministry of Justice, so she wanted a quick end.
Seeing her intentions laid bare, Madison’s face instantly turned ashen. “Living is hard enough. Dying is the easy part, isn’t it? Why would I be disappointed?”
Adelaide said flatly, “Living is indeed hard, but for you, dying won’t be
easy
either.”
Madison gritted her teeth in hatred and hissed maliciously, “Not easy? Then why did your whole family get destroyed? Look how easily your entire family died! They didn’t even leave behind full bodies. Is that not easy?”
She intentionally stabbed at Adelaide’s deepest pain and then laughed triumphantly.
Her eyes were more venomous than a pit viper’s.
She thought this would crush Adelaide, making her lose control and lash out.
Clearly, she was going to be disappointed.
Adelaide’s expression didn’t change. She just stared at her with icy eyes. “Even in death, they can be together forever. But you, whether you live or die, you will always be alone.”
“You think I care about that?” Madison burst into laughter, tearing at the wounds on her face and lips.
Blood oozed out, making her entire face look like a rotten peach. She still fixed Adelaide with a malevolent stare and spat out every word, “I don’t care at all!”
Adelaide said expressionlessly, “You better truly not care about anything, or you won’t survive your time with the Ministry of Justice. You should know, I don’t want you to die easily.”
When the vehicle arrived, Adelaide dragged Madison out.
Jess, the official in charge of guarding royal–related prisoners at the Ministry of Justice, came forward for the handover.
After the exchange, Jess ordered heavy chains to be placed all over Madison’s body.

Jess then spoke, “Gamma Adelaide, Lycan Erasmus has ordered that to prevent Madison from committing suicide, most of her teeth must be pulled and her hands and feet broken. Please come inside to supervise, so you can report back successfully.”
Madison hissed through clenched teeth, “You dare?”
Adelaide just said coldly, “Lead the way.”
Madison was dragged inside, roaring and struggling the whole way, unable to maintain the composure she had shown in the car.
The Ministry of Justice compound was vast, divided by a wide central corridor: the east side housed the Ministry offices, and the west was the detention area.
Since most of those detained were from the royal family, there was no traditional prison. Instead, the area was divided into separate, guarded courtyards.
The entire detention area was surrounded by high walls and heavily guarded.
Adelaide had already given the order to Captain Ampelio of the Royal Guard to send assistance.
The Royal Guard had arrived, but Ampelio was not there yet.
Jess was a Ministry of Justice official in charge of all detainees here.
The Ministry had its own guards, but because Madison was under Lycan Erasmus’s special “attention,” the Royal Guard had been deployed to help.
They reached Madison’s detention courtyard, and she was pushed inside.
Someone was already waiting in the courtyard. On a dilapidated small table, there were pliers and metal hooks for pulling teeth.
“Let go of me!” Madison struggled wildly, but the heavy chains made her lose her balance, and she fell forward, collapsing onto her knees.
Jess seemed completely used to such scenes.
He said placidly, “Although Lycan Erasmus stripped you of your Princess title, he is still detaining you here at the Ministry of Justice. This is already a courtesy to you. Consider this kneel a thank you for that courtesy.”
With that, he ordered his men to grab Madison.
