A Vow of Deception, A Vow of Revenge novel Chapter 127

Celia's sobs grew more desperate, her voice raw with anguish. "Yes, I lied to you! But it's only because I love you so much! I love you so much, Tyson. I want to be the only one by your side, but you refused to break up with Winona. I was terrified you'd leave me, so this was the only thing I could do!"

All the while, a burning hatred for Winona twisted in her chest.

Celia knew, if Winona weren't Miss Thorne, Tyson wouldn't have been so furious, even if he'd found out about the lies. But now—now his regret only fueled his anger.

Suddenly, a violent wave of nausea overtook her. She doubled over, clutching the wainscoting with trembling, pale fingers, fighting to keep control.

Tyson didn't rush to comfort her. Instead, he paced the room in agitation, running a hand through his hair. "Nona, you can't marry someone else. I'm the one you truly love…" he muttered, circling the room restlessly.

When the retching finally subsided, Celia broke into a fit of wild, half-hysterical laughter, the sound mingling with her sobs. "Yes! I lied to you! But what about Winona, huh? Is she really any better than me? You think she actually loves you? She's about to marry another man! Did she even give you the time of day today? For all you know, she's probably already hooked up with Elvis!"

Tyson stopped dead in his tracks, his eyes bloodshot as he glared at her. "Shut up! Nona would never—she only loves me!"

He thought back to the past five years—how deeply Winona had loved him, how much she'd sacrificed. Everyone saw the way she looked at him. How could she ever change her heart?

"She's just trying to get back at me," Tyson said, not sure if he was trying to convince Celia or himself.

"Ty, wake up!" Celia threw herself in front of him, her face streaked with tears. "Let's go back to Seastone. Please, forget about Winona. She doesn't deserve you pining after her! Let's go home, have our baby, and start over as a family. Isn't that what you want?"

"Start over?" Tyson scoffed, cold fury in his eyes. "You're dreaming. Do you really think the Rogers and the Thornes will just let me walk away? And I've told you before—my wife will only ever be Nona. I'm not giving up on her."
