A Vow of Deception, A Vow of Revenge novel Chapter 204

They might not have slept in the same room, but Winona had barely rested last night. She couldn’t stop thinking about how Elvis still hadn’t come back to the house.

“No way around it,” Elvis said over breakfast. “That man, Eamon Wells—he’s stubborn as a mule.”

“Eamon…” Winona frowned, searching her memory. “Celia Goodwin’s ex-husband?”

He nodded. “That’s the one.”

Elvis told her everything he’d managed to get out of Eamon. At first, Eamon flat-out refused to talk, swearing up and down he had nothing to do with Celia anymore. But Elvis had his ways; eventually, Eamon broke and confessed.

It turned out Celia had ordered him to get rid of Winona. He hadn’t found a chance while they were all in the city, so he waited until Winona left the country, hoping he could find the opportunity then. He tried. He failed. And Elvis had caught him in the act.

That wasn’t all, though. Eamon revealed even more—like the car accident Winona had suffered years ago. Celia had orchestrated the whole thing, and Eamon had helped from the shadows. He’d been so careful that even Tyson, who cleaned up the mess afterward, had no idea Eamon was involved—he’d assumed it was all Celia.

They’d destroyed every shred of evidence long ago. Nothing could be taken lightly after hearing this.

As for an eyewitness? Eamon was hopelessly infatuated with Celia. Getting him to confess to Elvis had been hard enough; there was no way he’d stand up in front of everyone and expose Celia’s crimes.

Winona’s fingers curled into a tight fist, knuckles whitening.

It didn’t matter. She would keep digging. She refused to believe the people who hurt her could go unpunished forever.

Elvis gently pried her fingers open, one by one.

Suddenly, Winona cleared her throat, a thought striking her. “Eamon… he’s still alive, isn’t he?”

“Of course,” Elvis replied with a half-smile. “I’m not in the habit of killing people. He’s fine.”
