A Vow of Deception, A Vow of Revenge novel Chapter 226

Some of the bodyguards worked for the Thorne family, others for Elvis. Now, every one of them had replied to her message.

After quickly scanning through the responses, Winona looked up at Yvonne.

“But before we eat,” she began, “there’s something I’d like to ask you, Miss Vale.”

Yvonne seemed surprised, but managed a polite smile. “Of course. Go ahead.”

“Your husband—is his name Brandon Gale?”

Brandon. That was the name of the driver from all those years ago.

The moment those three words left Winona’s lips, Yvonne’s smile froze in place. The color drained from her face, and wide-eyed fear flickered in her gaze. “Who... who are you? How do you know—?”

Winona said nothing more. She simply looked at Yvonne, her expression unreadable.

A second later, Yvonne snatched her daughter up in her arms and bolted for the door.

“What—what’s happening?” Sue stood up, bewildered, just in time to see Yvonne reach the doorway. Driven by terror, Yvonne managed to hold her daughter with one arm and yank the door open with the other.

But as the door swung wide, she stopped dead in her tracks. Several bodyguards were already stationed at the threshold, blocking her way, their faces expressionless and cold.

Clutching her daughter tightly, Yvonne turned back to Winona, tears threatening to spill down her cheeks.

“Who are you? What do you want from me?”
