A Vow of Deception, A Vow of Revenge novel Chapter 30

Winona couldn't help but laugh out loud.

Seriously? He had the nerve to say something like that after secretly picking up their marriage certificate?

Her laughter made Tyson's expression grow even more awkward. He realized he'd gotten a bit carried away these last few days, but who could blame him? Celia was finally back in the country—he could have her close for the foreseeable future. He was genuinely happy.

Besides, Tyson had always considered Winona easy to placate. He never imagined she'd be so upset as to threaten him with divorce.

But he wasn't worried. People said things they didn't mean when they were angry.

Just then, a waiter approached, arms full of a massive bouquet.

"Mr. Goodwin, the flowers you ordered have arrived."

Tyson took the arrangement, stood, and walked over to Winona, personally handing her the bouquet.

"Nona, don't be mad anymore. Let's make this work, okay?"

In front of her was a vibrant bundle of red roses.

Winona suddenly remembered the day Tyson confessed to her, years ago—he'd held out a bouquet just like this one. Back then, his eyes sparkled, as if she was the only person in his world.

How could a person be so two-faced? It was revolting.

"Nona?" Tyson waited, holding the roses, but she didn't reach out to take them.

Of course, his phone chose that moment to ring.

He set the bouquet aside and answered.

"Hey, Mom? You're here already? Nona and I are out for dinner… Okay, we'll head home right away."

Once he hung up, he turned to Winona. "My mom's here—she's at the house now and wants us to come back."
