"Mother!" Ariana gasped staring at the older woman. She was glad Abby was finally here to free her. She knew they wouldn’t keep her here for long
"You went too far Ariana, that is why you’ll spend the night in here," Abby said shocking her.
Though their initial plan was to let Ariana know about the truth right now, Abby changed her mind.
Ariana could be a good tool for achieving their wealth. She is a natural disaster and would do a lot for them. If she learned about the truth, she doubts the girl will be willing to comply.
"Mother!"
"I told you to hit him, not kill him," Abby said. "I told you, you would pay right? Take this as the little punishment offered. Next time, don’t lay those hands on my son." She muttered.
"I’m so sorry mother, please let me out." Ariana pleaded.
"I... I treated him like you asked." She lied.
"I’ll do anything, just don’t let me sleep here." Ariana continued begging.
"That is not enough Ariana. You’re supposed to treat him since you inflicted the injury on him." Abby said dryly and started walking away, leaving Chris and his wife alone.
She was glad she had come just in time to stop him from spewing nonsense. The secret of them not being a part of the Adkins family dies with them. No other ear must hear of it, not even Ariana. Until they steal all of Osvaldo’s wealth.
"I’ll tell my parents about this. They’ll know what you’ve done to me." Ariana screamed and Abby paused in her steps.
"Such an ungrateful brat." She hissed glaring at the girl.
"You can tell them all you want, but that doesn’t mean you wouldn’t follow our family rules. If you’re so against it, then divorce Chris immediately." Abby said.
Ariana had bragged so much about Chris. This is the same man she had stolen from her sister, if she leaves him, Penny will never let her hear the end of it. Not only was she worried about Penny, but she was also worried about what people would say to her.
They would mock her family all over again because of her. Ariana could allow that.
She could endure.
Sleeping in the dungeon for three days was nothing compared to how much pain she would cause herself and her family.
