Chapter 160 No Regrets
Brian froze, staring at the woman in front of him in disbelief.
His voice trembled as he asked, hardly daring to breathe, “What did you just say?”
Was he hearing things? Did he misunderstand? Was she really saying what he thought?
He was terrified it would all end up being nothing more than wishful thinking.
Chloe flashed him a small smile.
“Brian, I want you,” she repeated. “And you… Do you want me?”
His throat bobbed. Of course, he wanted her.
“I do,” he murmured, his voice almost a whisper. “I really want you, Chloe.”
In the next instant, he scooped her into his arms and carried her to the bed.
Chloe glanced at the bed. Since they’d returned to Corvessia, she’d shared this bed with him countless times. Yet tonight, her heart pounded. She knew what was about to happen.
Gently laying her on the sheets, Brian asked, “Are you sure? You won’t regret this?”
“What if I do?” she teased.
He pressed his lips together and held her gaze. “If you really regret it, then no matter how badly I want you, I won’t touch you.”
She smiled and tugged on his arm. In a heartbeat, he was already on the bed with her, her fingers resting on his chest.
“I won’t regret it, so you can’t regret it either,” she whispered, leaning down to kiss him as her fingers moved lower, unfastening his belt.
Brian’s whole body tensed, Heat rose under her touch, making him quiver. He knew what this meant she was finally opening her heart to him, truly letting him in.
“Chloe, I love you,” he breathed, wanting to give her the very best of himself.
He’d always thought of his body as nothing more than just a shell, but if it could please her, then it was worth everything.
That night, the once–distant and aloof Brian clung to Chloe. His rough gasps, soft moans, and the quiver of his taut body all revealed how deeply he desired and cherished her.
By the end, she was so exhausted she could barely lift a finger. It felt more draining than a
battle.

Half asleep, she felt lips pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead. Then, he whispered hoarsely in her ear, “Chloe, don’t you ever leave me.‘
“This silly man,” she thought. How could she ever leave him?
That was the last thought that went through her mind before she drifted off to sleep.
When Chloe opened her eyes the next morning, a familiar voice rang out beside her.
“You’re awake?” Brian asked. “If you’re still tired, sleep a little longer. I’ve already called in sick for you.”
“What?” Chloe was stunned. “You called in for me?”
“Yeah,” he said. “Lena called this morning to ask why you hadn’t come to work. I told her you were exhausted and needed a day off. Sorry I took it upon myself to decide for you.”
Chloe rubbed her temples. Knowing Lena’s wild imagination, she could already guess what her friend must be thinking now.
It wasn’t that she minded people knowing, but she could already imagine the teasing looks and the gossip.
As soon as she sat up, she winced. Her whole body ached. Looking down, she saw faint red and purple marks scattered across her skin.
She couldn’t believe her eyes. How many times had they done it last night?
Mortified, Chloe pulled the blanket up to cover herself and glanced at Brian, who was already
dressed and looked refreshed.
How could men and women look so different after spending a night together?
“Does it still hurt?” he asked, his voice laced with concern.
“Not really,” she muttered. “I’m just a bit sore.”
Only then did she realize her skin felt warm and supple, not sticky. He must’ve cleaned her up last night.
She stared at him, stunned.
“What is it?” Brian asked, looking nervous. “Did I hurt you yesterday? You didn’t like it? Or was it uncomfortable? It was my first time too… but I’ll do better next time.”
“No… You were fine,” she said, cheeks burning.
He’d been clumsy yet thoughtful. But despite that, he was insatiable. Every time she thought

they were done, he’d wanted more.
And when she tried to refuse, one look at the longing and needy expression on his face had made her soften again. That was why she was so worn out.
“I just realized I trust you more than I thought,” she said quietly.

With her usual vigilance, even if she were exhausted, she would’ve woken up when he bathed her. But she’d slept straight through until morning.
She felt safe with him beside her.
A smile spread across Brian’s face. “Let me help you get dressed.”
