Chapter 20 Arrogance
“Who is this?” Gaston turned at the voice.
His eyes landed on a young woman with blond hair and a piece of candy in her mouth. She seemed too young to be here, yet her striking presence was undeniable.
She had a cool, intelligent grace, a faint beauty mark near her eye. Her gaze was intense. carrying a quiet authority.
Jonathon jumped in. “Gaston, this is the doctor I…”
“This is outrageous!”
Rosalie’s sharp tone cut him off.
She had finally arrived, her expression sour as she looked Annelise up and down. “You again,” she spat. “Not satisfied with begging for money, now you’re scamming people at the hospital?”
She raised her voice, addressing the room. “Who let this person in? Does no one check credentials around here?”
A flustered duty doctor hurried over. “Prof. Kendrick, please, it’s a misunderstanding. These are the patient’s family. The situation is critical. We need you to begin immediately.”
She sneered in her heart, “Family?
“So they are with this girl.
“Just poor country relations pretending to be important. Wasted my time coming here.
“Clear the room,” Rosalie stated, her tone leaving no room for argument.
Jonathon stood his ground. “We’re staying.”
“I do not conduct consultations with an audience,” she replied coldly. “Accept my terms or find another doctor.”
“Do they think I have nothing better to do than treat every peasant who walks in?” she thought.

Chapter 20 Arrogance
:
Jonathon had heard stories about Rosalie’s arrogance, but seeing it firsthand was different
Anger simmered inside him.
“You’re a doctor! How can you just stand there while a man is dying?” he demanded, his voice low and tight.
Rosalie remained unmoved. “Stop your accusations. The choice is yours, not mine. I offered to help under one condition.”
Her eyes flicked dismissively to Annelise. “This country bumpkin was disrespectful. I’m not unreasonable. If she apologizes to me properly, I will see the patient.”
“Apologize? You must be joking!” Jonathon was used to respect. This was pure obstruction, not a genuine offer to help.
“Watch your tone,” Rosalie warned, her face pinched. “Are you threatening me?”
Jonathon was trembling with rage. For a moment, he truly wanted to strike her.
Annelise, calm amidst the storm, gently rested a hand on his arm. “Stay focused. The patient comes first. This can wait.”
He looked at her, his eyes pleading. “I’ll listen to you. Please save him. I’m begging you.
