Chapter 215
Sebastian looked momentarily stunned.

Before he could answer, Rebecca pushed further, “Or was it that, besides the Guzman family’s chairman, the Quinn family was also involved in what happened back then?”
“He’s always regretted what happened,” Oliver, who had been standing quietly nearby, finally spoke up.
Rebecca bristled inwardly. “And then what?” she spat, her tone sharp.
Sebastian opened his mouth, but for a moment, he didn’t know what to say.
Rebecca made it crystal clear she wanted nothing from them–just wanted them to leave her and her mom alone for good. “Instead of acting all sorry, why don’t you keep your distance like you’ve done for the last twenty years? That would actually earn you some respect from me.”
Not caring about their reaction, she got up and stormed off.
She was fuming. ‘Seriously? You hurt my mom all those years ago and now you think a weak apology wipes the slate clean?‘ Rebecca thought, her anger burning.
‘Does regret turn back time?‘ Rebecca sneered to herself. ‘Does regret really heal the scars in my mom’s heart?‘
‘Regret? Like that could ever fix anything.‘ Rebecca seethed, her thoughts swirling with resentment.
“Ms. Rebecca is just really close to her mom. Don’t take it to heart,” Oliver said, trying to comfort the silent
Sebastian.
“She’s got the same temper Amelia used to have,” Sebastian sighed, his mood heavy. “Do you think I should apologize to her for what happened back then?”
Oliver paused for a moment before answering, “With Ms. Jensen’s personality, I doubt she’d accept it.”
Sebastian’s face was a mix of emotions. “Yeah, that girl’s stubborn as a mule.”
Oliver joked, “You’re just as stubborn as they are, you know.”
“Yeah, both those girls get their hard–headedness straight from me,” Sebastian admitted with a wry grin. If anyone else dared say that, I’d probably have snapped at them. “Honestly, if I hadn’t found out she was in that coma for so many years, I might have held that grudge forever.”
“Want to go see her?” Oliver suggested.
“Nah, not right now,” Sebastian said, gazing through the glass as Rebecca walked away into the distance. “Maybe later.”
“Sounds good,” Oliver agreed.
Sebastian stood up and left the café. As he slid into the car, he turned and asked offhandedly, “Where’s that

“Said he went upstairs to check in on Jeffrey,” Oliver responded casually. “He told us not to wait around for him.”

Meanwhile, in Jeffrey’s hospital room, Gregory was giving a detailed report on what had happened downstairs.
“Ms. Jensen has left. The Quinn family didn’t send anyone to tail her. It was probably just some small talk, Gregory explained.
“Have Tommy watch her back quietly,” Jeffrey said, his gaze growing darker. “Things aren’t any safer here than in Jelasburg. The moment you see anything off, I want to know.”
“Got it,” Gregory replied.
Just then, the hospital room door cracked open, and a bodyguard poked his head in. “Mr. Hanson, the third heir of the Quinn family is here to see you.”
Jeffrey’s vibe instantly chilled. “Let him in.”
“Please,” the bodyguard said, pulling the door all the way open.
A young man, barely in his twenties and bursting with energy, strolled in. Spotting Jeffrey in the hospital bed, he shot him a mischievous grin. “So, what should I call you now? Brother–in–law or Mr. Hanson?”
“I’m not in the habit of picking up random relatives,” Jeffrey replied flatly.
“Hey, how’s that random?” Jack grinned, super comfortable in his skin–his casual clothes made him look even more energetic. “If we’re sticking to family logic, Rebecca’s my cousin, you’re her husband, that makes you my brother–in–law whether you like it or not.”
Stanley blinked. ‘Is this guy for real?‘
Stanley had honestly never seen anyone this shameless before. “Well, guess this is the first time I’ve heard of an uncle who gives his nephew something he’s allergic to.”
Jack shot back with a mischievous smirk, “So you admit I’m related to Rebecca, huh?”
Stanley could only stare, completely at a loss. ‘What kind of family did I just walk into?!‘
Jeffrey shot him a sideways glance.
‘Why’s he talking nonsense out of nowhere?‘ Jeffrey thought, impatient.
“Alright, I admit I was wrong with the whole nephew thing,” Jack said, flashing an innocent smile. “If you still hold a grudge, just give it back to me. I’m allergic to mangoes–eat two and I’ll end up just like your nephew
did.”

Chapter 215
“Give it to him,” Jeffrey said, staring Jack down.
Stanley blinked, thrown off “Give him what?*
Gregory fished out two small mangoes from who–knows–where,
Jack gave them a quick look, totally unfazed. “Man, you really hold a grudge, don’t you?
Jeffrey didn’t so much as blink. “They’re right there. Whatever you do, it’s your call:
“Like I even have a choice? If it helps my dear brother–in–law cool off, I guess I’ve only got one option,” Jack said, swaggering as he picked up both mangoes.
Daniel, the secretary who came in behind, frowned. “Eat those, and you’ll drop dead.”
Jack spun the two mangoes in his hands, not bothered at all. “Relax, worst case I’ll just have trouble breathing. No big deal.”
Daniel was at a loss for words.
“Hey, don’t worry, this is all on me–just my own crazy idea,” Jack added, glancing at Daniel. “If anything happens, my brother–in–law’s off the hook. Don’t go blaming him, alright?”
Daniel could only sigh helplessly, took out his phone and made a call. “Better get ready, Mr. Quinn’s gonna need a crash cart in a minute.”
Stanley stared, dumbfounded.
Stanley’s brain was short–circuiting. Literal question marks everywhere.
‘What the hell is even going on here?!‘ Stanley thought, wondering what universe he’d wandered into.
‘Jack’s a lunatic, sure, but now Jeffrey’s just as nuts–and this secretary guy, he’s not even trying to stop the chaos. Are they all crazy?‘ Stanley thought, totally dumbfounded.
“So, if I eat these two, does that mean we’re even over what happened with my nephew?” Jack asked, peeling the mangoes while he spoke.
“That’s settled for me.” Jeffrey said coolly, making it clear he wasn’t forgiving Jack for Rebecca. “But with Rebecca, you’re on your own. Go apologize to her yourself.”
“Guess you’re not exactly the king of the castle at home,” Jack needled, stuffing the little mango into his mouth, words muffled as he chewed. “But if you think about it, Rebecca’s Amelia’s kid–that stubborn streak probably runs in the family.”
He was still talking when angry red hives started breaking out across his face and neck.
Jack should’ve been miserable with all that itching, but he just shrugged it off, acting like nothing bothered
him at all.
Daniel’s brow furrowed as he watched, but at least the emergency team was already waiting outside.
