“That’s right,” Michael and Victor said, one after another.

“Jack, get the contract ready,” Peter said, his voice full of mocking ease. “Let’s settle this shares business tonight, and tomorrow we’ll sort out the transfer.”

“On it,” Jack replied, a sly smile playing on his lips.

The next second, he snapped his fingers.

“My mom was forced out of the Quinn family over twenty years ago–Sebastian even struck her name from the family record,” Rebecca said, not letting them dodge the truth. “So really, I’m not even considered one of the Quinns.”

“What happened back then–Dad was just a little impulsive,” Patricia replied gently. “But no matter what, you and your mother are Quinns by blood.”

“Got any proof of that?” Rebecca pushed back.

Patricia froze for a moment, genuinely confused. “Proof? What proof are you even talking about?”

Rebecca shot back without hesitation. “Proof that my mom and I actually belong to the Quinns.”

Patricia snorted. “Seriously? Everyone in Honnala knows Amelia is Sebastian’s daughter. What more proof does anyone need?” She found Rebecca’s request completely absurd.

“So what you’re saying is, if enough people know about something, that’s considered evidence?” Rebecca retorted, cool and direct. “Even if it wouldn’t hold up in court?”

“Uh…” Patricia was at a loss for words.

“The contract states Amelia’s descendants can buy back the shares at the original price, no extra conditions,” Rebecca called them out, exposing their double standard. “I’m not even listed in your family record, so your Quinn family rules don’t apply to me.”
