Let our guys in Honnala know to keep an extra close eye on Rebecca’s safety from now on. Jeffrey said. Anything unusual. I want to hear about it right away
Gregory instantly got pumped. “You got it.”
Jeffrey continued, “And don’t forget–watch Michael, Peter, and Miles like a hawk.”
Gregory nodded, “Will do.”
Jeffrey just made a low sound of agreement.
Gregory let out a quiet sigh of relief. ‘Looks like Mr. Hanson’s finally getting back to caring about Ms. Jensen’s business like he used to, he thought to himself.
“Mr. Hanson, are you actually going after Ms. Jensen?” Barry, who’d been blending into the background. suddenly spoke up, excitement flickering in his eyes. “Want me or Tommy to secretly watch over her?”
Jeffrey gave him a cold stare.
He didn’t say a single word, but the atmosphere instantly turned heavy.
Barry’s playful grin disappeared without a trace.
“Head back to Jelasburg tomorrow and get your resignation sorted,” Jeffrey said coldly. “You’re fired.”
Barry’s eyes shot up in disbelief, shock written all over his face.
Gregory was also caught off guard.
He quickly jumped in to defend Barry, since they’d been through so much together. “Mr. Hanson, Barry just lost his head for a moment, that’s all.”
“Please, don’t let me go. I know I made a mistake,” Barry pleaded, not bothering to defend himself. “Let me make it right–send me to watch over Ms. Jensen in secret. I promise, I’ll take full responsibility and won’t let anyone lay a finger on her.”
Jeffrey’s tone was ice–cold. “You really think you can take Mark Mason in a fight?”
Gregory was desperately shooting him warning looks.
But Barry didn’t notice. “Of course I can!”
Jeffrey tossed out, “Then go pick a fight with him. Win, and I’ll let today slide. Lose, and you can hand in your resignation yourself.”
“I’ll get it done,” Barry said, totally confident in himself.
As Mr. Hanson’s go–to guy, Barry knew he could wipe the floor with any other bodyguard if it came down to

Jeffrey didn’t say a word morr–joet stretched his legs and strode right off to find Reberra
Gregory couldn’t hold back anymore and lectured Barry, ‘Seriously, are you crazy? All you had to do was apulogize to Mr. Hanson and it’d be over. Why’d you even agree to his conditions?
“Don’t sweat it.” Barry replied, completely clueless about how serious this is. Tve got this.”
Gregory bluntly shot him down, “No way, you don’t.”
Barry stubbornly retorted, “Yes way, I do.”
Gregory doubled down. “Trust me, you seriously don’t.”
Barry wasn’t lacking in self–confidence at all. “C’mon, you know what I’m capable of, right? One Mark Mason? I’d take him down easy. Hell, even if he brought backup, I’d still handle both of them no problem.”
“Man, last time at the hospital, he wiped the floor with both me and Mr. Garcia like it was nothing,” Gregory admitted–even though bringing up something that embarrassing kinda sucked, after all these years as colleagues, Barry deserved a real warning.
“Please, you two are clueless,” Barry shot back. “That’s normal, though. Sometimes you’ve just gotta leave the tough stuff to the professionals.”
Gregory was sharp at business, but when it came to throwing hands, he was strictly so–so.
Mr. Garcia? Please, let’s not even go there.
Gregory just stared at him, totally speechless.
He didn’t say another word.
Let him dig his own grave, Gregory thought. ‘Once he gets beat down and loses his job, we’ll see who’s crying
then
Gregory just looked at him and said, “Alright, good luck.”
“Don’t worry about me,” Barry said, still cocky as ever.
Barry scanned the room, spotted Mark standing right beside Rebecca, and marched over without missing a beat–right in front of Jeffrey and Rebecca, he said, “Ms. Jensen, I need to talk to your bodyguard for a sec. Mind if I steal him for a minute?”
Rebecca glanced at Mark questioningly.
Mark didn’t even blink. “No way.”
Barry gave him a look. “Why not?”
Mark answered firmly, “I’m here to guard Ms. Jensen. Not leaving her side.”

Chapter 320
“Come on, with a crewed like this, there’s zero chance anything sketchy happens. Besides, Mr. Hanson’s right here. Barry tried to ceas him just need ten minutes, tops”
Mark shot a look in Jeffrey, as if checking for any reaction.
Jeffrey remained perfectly stoic, not even flinching.
“Honestly? When nothing else is a threat, your boss is the one you gotta watch out for, Mark said, dead

Tom, standing nearby, almost doubled over laughing when he heard that.
Seriously, this dude roasts everyone equally–except Ms. Jensen, Tom thought, still cracking up. The guy had no chill at all.
Barry looked like he wanted to say something, but just stopped himself.
Jeffrey stayed poker–faced, but finally spoke up to Rebecca, “Looks like Barry’s got something important to
discuss with him.”
“Go ahead.” Rebecca replied, not bothered at all. “Don’t worry about me, I’m good.”
Mark instantly went all serious. “Ms. Jensen.”
Rebecca blinked, “What?”
Mark shot Jeffrey a meaningful glance, his tone dead serious. “Ms. Jensen, you’re putting way too much trust in your ex–hubby–dangerous move.”
Rebecca froze, stunned by his bluntness.
“Back when you were married, it was all poetry and long horizons; now it’s more like crime scenes and cops,” Mark warned, on full alert. “I’ll get Tom to stick around and cover you. He might be useless, but at least he can take a stab for you if things get messy.”
Rebecca was left speechless.
Jeffrey was stone–faced, completely speechless.
Barry stood there, utterly stunned, not knowing what to think.
Barry felt like his whole understanding of reality was getting flipped upside down.
He never would’ve believed a bodyguard could sass his own boss like that–right to his face.
“Who you calling useless?” Tom strolled over, chewing on a blade of grass, acting all chill. “If I hadn’t reacted fast that time, you’d have been the one getting stabbed downstairs at the Quinn Group building.”
Mark just shrugged, “Fact”
Tom rolled up his sleeves, looking all cocky. “Come on, let’s settle this with our fists. Let’s see who’s really

Tom grinned. ‘Ms. Jensen, how about thie Tie him up, and if he can’t break free in ten seconds while I’m smacking him around. then clearly he’s the useless one.”
Barry just stood there, totally stunned.

Watching these two bodyguards resort to such a low–class way of settling things, Barry suddenly realized why Gregory had warned him earlier.
Seriously, in normal situations, nobody with any pride would even suggest something this embarrassing. Even if you got your face smashed in, you’d still demand a fair fight–unless the difference in skill was seriously one–sided.
“Whatever, suit yourselves,” Rebecca said, totally used to their antics–this honestly wasn’t their first time. “Just don’t come crying to me for a doctor after.”
