Boss, Your Ex-Wife is Unreachable Now! novel Chapter 327

Willow slipped her phone into her pocket and hurried upstairs.

As she unlocked the door, the apartment was shrouded in darkness.

It was late—her dad was probably already in bed.

She forced herself to calm down, flicked on the living room lights, and headed straight for her father’s room.

The bedroom was still dark. Willow knocked gently on the door, calling, “Dad? Are you asleep?”

No answer.

A surge of anxiety broke through her composure. She pushed the door open and switched on the light.

The room was empty.

Panic tightened in her chest.

But then she tried to reassure herself—maybe her dad was just staying at the faculty dorms tonight and hadn’t come home. It wouldn’t be the first time.

She quickly pulled out her phone and dialed Klein’s number.

No luck. The call wouldn’t go through.

Willow’s heart plummeted.

Fighting the rising wave of dread, she called her dad’s colleague, Mr. Bryce.

The call connected after a few rings.

“Mr. Bryce, it’s Willow. Did you see my dad at the university today?” she asked, her voice urgent.

“Willa?” Mr. Bryce sounded groggy, as if she’d woken him from sleep, his voice thick and scratchy.

“Yes, Mr. Bryce, did you see my dad today? Do you know when?”

“Your dad?” Mr. Bryce seemed to clear his head a bit. “He didn’t have any evening classes. After his big lecture this afternoon, he just left.”

“Did he go back to the dorms or head home?” Willow pressed. Mr. Bryce’s faculty apartment was right next door to her father’s dorm room.

He must have picked up on the anxiety in her voice. She heard muffled shuffling over the line. “Hold on, I’ll go knock on his door.”

“Thank you, Mr. Bryce. Really.”

Willow clutched her phone, heart pounding.
