Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 122

The police saw that Giselle's clothes were torn, her pants unfastened, her hair a mess, and there were marks all over her chest. She looked every bit like someone who had just been assaulted. They immediately took the situation seriously.

Two officers stepped inside and saw Donovan sitting on the couch, puffing on his cigarette calmly. His refined appearance and demeanor didn't match the stereotypical image of a rapist, so they hesitated.

After all, all cases like this were hard to conclude—especially since it happened inside a home, and there were no signs of forced entry.

One officer asked politely, "Sir, may I ask what your relationship is with this lady?"

Donovan didn't even glance at him, nor did he acknowledge Giselle's accusation. He just smoked in silence.

When he finally stubbed out his cigarette, he got up and leisurely buttoned his shirt.

"What she said is true," he said sullenly.

The female officer's gaze darted between him and Giselle's disheveled state.

"Alright. Please come with us to the station for questioning," she said, having no choice but to follow procedure.

Donovan didn't try to explain or resist. He merely gave Giselle a dark look before walking out with the male officer.

Meanwhile, the female officer gave her a token word of comfort and told her she needed to go to the hospital for an examination to collect physical evidence. She would also need to make an official police statement.
