Hearing this, Gideon scoffed.
"Well, well," he drawled out, his voice thick with amusement. "Are you actually a lawyer, Ms. Holt?"
He deliberately spread his legs, almost touching Giselle's knee in the meantime.
She shifted in her chair and replied, "What I'm trying to say is don't take me as a fool. You can't just swindle whatever amount you want from me."
"Huh. You're just so stubborn, aren't you?"
He took out his phone, clicked on his album, then pulled out several photos that showed the cost of certain car parts and other relevant evidence. Slinging an arm over the back of her chair, he drew himself closer to her and brandished his phone at her.
"Take a look. This is the price of the original imported versions. Am I really scamming money off you?"
Giselle took a glance. Most of them were technical jargon about cars that she didn't understand, along with photos of various parts—she wasn't even sure they all belonged to this car.
What irked her more was that while she was looking at his phone, he had been quite close to her. His arm was resting behind her chair, and the air crackled with sexual tension.
She couldn't bother to look at the bill any longer. Tossing the phone back to him, she sprang to her feet and deliberately moved to the other side of the room to put distance between them.
"Sorry, Mr. Grayson," she said, arms crossed while leaning against the table.
Without losing an ounce of confidence, she continued, "I'm not acknowledging this repair bill. First, you need to prove which of these repairs was actually caused by the collision. Each price needs to have a clear, legally valid justification."
