That afternoon, Vivienne invited Giselle to a famous restaurant for lunch.
As a dentist working at a private clinic, Vivienne had significantly more free time than she did. Whenever she wasn't working, she loved indulging in food, drinks, and entertainment. Most of her earnings went straight into satisfying her cravings.
The two of them arrived at the restaurant and took their seats. While waiting for the food, Vivienne glanced at Giselle's bare face and baggy sportswear.
"Hey, why do you look so haggard?" She couldn't help but complain. "Are you just banking on your natural good looks and letting yourself go? You don't care about your image at all. Going out with you is embarrassing!"
Giselle took a sip of water and retorted, "I'm doing this to leave you some room to shine. If I dressed up, who would look at you?"
"Ugh, get lost!"
Already used to being Giselle's sidekick, Vivenne wasn't offended.
"I mean, at least take better care of your appearance. Reel in a few men for fun," she said earnestly. "Stop living in the shadows of the past like you're half-dead. Watching you like this pisses me off!"
The truth was, Giselle hadn't had the mood to dress up anymore. She barely even washed her face in the mornings these days and hadn't touched makeup in ages. And she only wore comfortable clothes.
Although her natural beauty still shone through no matter what she wore, the light in her eyes was gone. She looked dull and distracted.
In stark contrast, Vivenne looked radiant.
Giselle's gaze fell on the 15,000-dollar Hermès bag sitting on the chair next to Vivienne.
She couldn't help but ask, "Are you still sleeping with Sebastian?"
