Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 140

Gideon took his wallet from his pocket, pulled out his ID, and handed it to Giselle with a suggestive look. "Thanks."

Then, right in front of the man in the next bed, Giselle took Gideon's ID and walked out of the hospital room like she was his family. She used it to get him registered, paid the fees, and picked up his medicine.

While waiting, she casually glanced at Gideon's ID and was surprised to find that he was the same age as her—27. Then, she looked at the address on his ID and discovered that he was from a certain village way up north.

It didn't match his rich background at all. "How strange," she thought.

After getting the medicine, she went back to the hospital room and sat by Gideon's bed, pretending to care about his injuries.

Both men had been pretty roughed up—one had a broken brow bone, while the other had a dislocated jaw. Their faces were bruised and bandaged, bodies covered in bruises. Their injuries weren't life-threatening but serious enough that they'd both need to rest in bed for a few days to fully recover.

"Mr. Kane, could you give me your family's phone number? Would you like me to call them to come take care of you?" The nurse didn't know who Donovan was, but his cold and dignified air made an impression. Plus, the fact that no one was by his side made her attentive toward him.

Donovan, however, shook his head and said, "Don't worry about me."

Propped up against the headboard with an IV drip, he stared blankly at the ceiling. His head was pounding, and his whole body ached like it had been taken apart and reassembled.

He couldn't help but glance at Gideon's bed, which was a few feet away… Giselle was holding a cup of warm water, kindly feeding it to the man he had just traded punches with. The man looked at her with unmistakable possessiveness in his eyes, and she seemed to welcome it.
