It was the start of a weekend when Giselle received a message from Gideon on WhatsApp.
"Are you free? Would you like to hang out?"
Giselle replied, "Are you all better now?"
Gideon texted back, "You have some nerve to ask that. If I'd died and gotten cremated, you probably wouldn't have even known."
He wasn't wrong. She'd been so busy lately that she almost forgot that Gideon had been injured and hospitalized after that fight. She hadn't even thought to check in on how he was recovering.
Giselle calmly replied, "Don't go out and about if you're not fully recovered."
Gideon said, "Spare me the lecture. Just tell me if you're going to honor me with your company or not."
Giselle hesitated for a moment and thought about how it was the weekend, and she hadn't been out in a while. Going out to relax sounded nice, so she agreed.
"Send me the location. I'll drive there on my own."
Gideon replied, "It's in Yllara. It's about a three-hour drive. I'll come pick you up."
Giselle agreed. So, she washed her hair, blew it dry, and threw on a comfortable athleisure outfit. When Gideon called and said he'd arrived, she grabbed a cheap but sturdy LV bag and headed downstairs.
After arriving downstairs, she spotted him in a Range Rover with a chauffeur in the front seat. He was surprisingly chivalrous this time. He got out of the car and opened the back door for her, politely inviting her to get in.
Giselle was used to men acting all chivalrous, but she wasn't used to him doing it. She bent down and climbed into the back seat.
