Giselle felt utterly helpless as she watched her dog curled up in the corner, whimpering in pain, throwing up everything he had eaten, his once strong body now weak and limp. Slumped on the couch, she wrestled with her thoughts for a long time, feeling more and more lost.

With sunglasses and a mask on, her hair pulled into a high ponytail, and dressed in dark clothes, she slipped quietly into the research and development building.
Kane Group was a powerhouse in biopharmaceutical research and development. They collaborated with top medical universities around the world, hired talent from multiple countries, and used the most advanced technology and equipment. Consequently, they released many groundbreaking new drugs each year, and many of their best-selling medications dominated the market.
Giselle went inside the research building and noticed that several labs were still brightly lit. Many researchers were working late, moving quickly, and focused on their tasks. No one paid her any attention.
She casually wandered around, glanced into each department, and quietly made up her mind.
