"How dare you!" Ethan shook with rage as he heard what Gideon had said. "When did I ever threaten you? I've raised you for decades, and you think you can just cut ties with me, just like that? I'm just asking you to stop being so stubborn when you handle things and to grow up. It doesn't bring you harm to listen to me."
"Okay. Stop the yapping." Gideon was preoccupied with everything related to Giselle and wasn't in the mood to irk Ethan further.
After a simple goodbye, Gideon drove away alone.
Ethan went back to his office and saw that Donovan was still seated on the couch, waiting to talk to him about work, and said, "Sorry for what happened just now, Don."
Ethan had nothing but respect for Donovan, his brother, who was nearly 20 years younger than him, since Donovan was practically the entire reason their family business was able to grow to the way it was now. He was the true powerhouse who had accelerated the company's growth.
"Keep him on a tighter leash. Stop letting him roam around, freely attacking others." Donovan's disdain toward Gideon was so thick that he practically degraded him to just being Ethan's pet instead of his adopted son.
Ethan sighed and briefly told him about Gideon's past. "Yes, this is my bad. He's always been rebellious in nature and has done something wrong when he was a teen. At that time, I had deliberately sent him to enroll in the army's special forces team for a few years, attempting to smooth out his rough edges.
"He's been better the past two years. Don't worry. I won't let him disturb you again from now on."
"I don't care about that." Every time Donovan thought about the possibility of what had happened between Gideon and Giselle, hatred filled his heart at the brief mention of Gideon's name.
