The violent brawl went on for a few more minutes before the wardens from the lockup heard about it and rushed out to stop them.

After Giselle was yanked away, she was taken away by the warden and was later punished with labor under the scorching sun. She was beyond exhausted after that.

No matter what, the other people in her dorm recognized that she was a force to be reckoned with and didn't dare mess with her anymore.

As someone who was an avid athlete, she would inevitably have the upper hand in a fight with another woman. If it hadn't been for her choosing to deliberately hold back the past few days and her being unwell because of her period, she wouldn't even have stood to be bullied like that for such a long time.

After a somewhat quiet two days, the warden at the lockup informed her one morning that someone had come to visit her.

Usually, someone who was criminally detained like her wasn't allowed any visitors, so she was curious to know the identity of the person who would visit her at a time like this.

Could it be Vivienne?

When she reached the visitation cubicle, she saw a familiar silhouette of a man through the thick glass partition. It was Donovan.

When their eyes met, her traitorous heart skipped a beat. However, when she took in how noble he looked in his neat, handsome suit, while remembering how pathetic she looked in her lockup uniform, she was reminded of how cold he had been, and the hatred she felt for him drowned her like a flood.

At the same time, Donovan merely looked at her apathetically. There wasn't any warmth in his gaze at all.

They both took their seats at the visitation cubicle with only a glass partition between them.

As they faced each other, Donovan noticed the bruises and injuries on her forehead and the corner of her mouth, the weariness in her eyes, and the tiredness on her face, and felt a pang of sympathy for her.

He picked up the phone and said in a low voice, "Looks like you're not having too good a time in there, huh?"
