Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 170

"Who is it?" Giselle asked.

"Uncle Ethan," Gideon said, telling her the truth. "I've been bugging him every day for a week now to do something about it, and he finally couldn't take it anymore. He told the police what had happened, but since he had to also take into consideration that Donovan didn't agree to it, he could only post bail. No matter what it is, as long as you're out of there, that's all that matters."

Giselle fell into silence after she heard what he said.

So it seemed like everyone else in the world was kinder to her than a certain man, the same man she poured out her heart and soul for, only for him to want to see her dead.

Gideon noticed that she had gone silent and seemed a little unhappy. He inched closer to her and comforted her, "Don't worry. As long as I continue to put in a good word for you to Uncle Ethan, Donovan will have to drop the case sooner or later. I won't let you end up in prison."

Giselle could only smile bitterly in return. "It's fine. No matter what it is, I really want to thank you very much."

"Stop thanking me. It's annoying." Gideon retorted and changed the topic. "Oh, by the way, come eat at my house later."

"No need. You can just get the driver to drop me at the area of my house."

"Your dog is still with me," Gideon added, "While you were in there, I brought your 'son' over to my house to keep Chipper company. They eat and sleep together, and he's gained a few pounds now."

Giselle was a little touched to hear him say that. She didn't expect Gideon to pay attention to everything she cared for and for him to solve her issues in the most relatable way.

Giselle, of course, followed Gideon back to his house.
