Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 191

The next morning, Gideon brought Giselle's dog back to her home. To Giselle's delight, the dog looked a lot more energetic than it had two days ago. It had clearly made a full recovery.

"I pestered Uncle Ethan for an entire night. In the end, he agreed to give your dog the special medicine that Kane Group has yet to make available to the public.

"After receiving two shots of the medicine, your dog is now as good as new. Don't worry—this medicine is totally foolproof. I can guarantee you that there won't be a relapse."

Giselle felt incredibly moved. Petting her dog's head, she said in a grateful tone, "Thank you so much. I can't believe you went and asked Mr. Kane for help. I feel kind of bad about all the trouble I've caused you."

"I told Uncle Ethan that the dog belongs to me," Gideon said. "Since Kane Group just developed a special medicine that's able to cure the virus, it was only natural that he allowed me to use it to save the dog."

"Thank you," replied Giselle.

Because of her dog's condition, she had gone to Kane Pharmaceutical Group's branch office to see Donovan a few days ago and ended up getting locked up in a cold storage room. Now that everything was finally settled, she felt a lot more at ease.

"Oh, that reminds me. Does Donovan know that you took some of the new medicine?" she couldn't help but ask.

He paused and looked slightly hesitant.

"What's wrong?" she asked again.

"Nothing." Gideon let out a small laugh and pretended to act nonchalant. "Donovan doesn't need to know about such a trivial matter. It's just a new type of medicine. Uncle Ethan is perfectly capable of making that decision on his own."

"Alright then."

Giselle didn't press any further.

After a moment of silence, Gideon said in a reserved manner, "I'd like you to refrain from interacting with Donovan from now on. If you ever need his help in the future, please let me deal with the matter instead."
