Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 190

After sending out the message, Giselle untied Anne and carefully picked up the drugged towel. Then, she returned to her car and instantly sped off.

When she got to a bridge, she stopped the vehicle and tossed her "kidnapping tools" into the roaring river below.

She didn't feel any guilt or shame on her way back home. On the contrary, she felt exhilarated.

Anne and Renee had caused her too much pain. Despite what she'd just done to Anne, she still harbored a lot of resentment toward them.

After Giselle got home, she cleared her head. Then, she took a shower and lay down for a nap on her bed.

Two hours later, she was woken up by someone knocking on her front door.

She groggily got out of bed and casually pulled a shirt over herself. Then, she walked to the living room to answer the door.

When she opened the door, she was greeted by three police officers.

They flashed their identification badges before solemnly declaring, "Giselle Holt? We've received a report that you drugged and kidnapped someone at 1:00 pm earlier today. We were also told that you left the victim inside a locked car in extremely hot temperatures.

"You're now under investigation for attempted murder, Ms. Holt. I'm afraid you're going to have to head down to the station with us and answer a few questions."

Giselle had already known that the police were going to show up at her doorstep. So, she wasn't surprised.

Lately, trips to the police station had become a regular occurrence in her life. She didn't argue with the policemen. Instead, she simply acted as though she was going to a hotel. She shut the door behind her and followed them back to the police station.

After they arrived at the station, the police started interrogating her about the incident. However, despite their attempts to coerce or entice her into confessing, she refused to admit to her crimes. On top of that, she'd already figured out exactly what to say in advance.
