"How's Donovan doing?" Giselle asked over the phone.

"He's going to be okay. He's expected to make a full recovery in half a month," Tony replied.

Then, he continued in a firm manner, "It's better if you stay out of other people's businesses. It won't help Donovan's recovery if you get into a fight with the Kane family in the hospital."

After she hung up the call, she absentmindedly leaned against the railing on the second floor of the hospital. She felt incredibly conflicted.

The emergency department was right there. The majority of the Kane family had already left as well. If she waited for a little longer, she could look for an opportunity to slip into the ED-ICU to see Donovan. However, now that everything was within reach, she felt hesitant.

What was she supposed to say to him once she managed to enter the room? Why was she going to visit him in the first place?

She'd spent the entire day feeling anxious and restless. Now that she was certain his life was no longer at risk, was there still a need to go see him?

He was surrounded by his family, his fiancee, his employees, his clients, as well as his friends. She was just a former fling—she had no right to be worried about him.

She'd finally remembered that their relationship had ended a long time ago.

Despite what happened between them in the cold storage room, it wasn't possible to go back to the way things were ever again.

After a long period of contemplation, she ultimately decided to leave without even sneaking a glance at him through the door.

Three days later, Donovan was transferred to a regular hospital ward.

After being diagnosed with viral meningitis, he fell into a coma for three days and almost lost his life. As a result of this, he lost a tremendous amount of weight. Now, his physical condition was getting better, but his spirits were very low.
