After being kicked in the waist, Renee was crying in agony as she stumbled onto the floor. Anne immediately rushed over to check on her.
"It's you! Are you crazy?" Anne barked when she recognized Gideon's face. "You just physically assaulted her. I'm going to call the cops on you right now!"
Gideon didn't care about Anne. On top of that, he wasn't concerned about Renee's injuries either.
He instantly rushed over and helped Giselle to her feet. When he noticed that Renee's heel had created a wound on the latter's face, he was furious. He couldn't help but take out a tissue so he could gently wipe the blood off her cheek.
Renee was a relatively old woman. After being violently knocked to the ground by Gideon, she was struggling to stand up and kept yelling in pain.
Upon seeing this, Anne had no choice but to ask the medical staff for help. Before she left to accompany Renee to a checkup, she even threatened Gideon to stay put and claimed that she would report him to the police.
Gideon couldn't care less about her threats. He helped Giselle stand up and said, "Come on, let's get your wound cleaned up. It'd be awful if a scar were to form on such a beautiful face."
Giselle looked like she was disconnected from her surroundings. She'd just been violently beaten up by Renee and Anne, but she didn't have the strength or energy to feel angry about what happened. She just felt incredibly numb.
She let Gideon lead her to another hospital department to get her wound bandaged.
Afterward, she weakly told Gideon, "Sorry. I think I just got you into trouble again. Anne and Renee are a pain to deal with.
"Renee is relatively old. After what you just did, she's probably injured. If they really do report you to the authorities, I'm afraid it'll cause you quite a bit of trouble—"
"Stop overthinking it," Gideon cut her off nonchalantly. "I barely touched her! If I'd actually kicked her, she'd be in the ICU by now!"
He continued, "I've got it covered. Don't worry about it."
He witnessed the way they bullied Giselle with his own eyes, and even the mere thought of it still made him furious.
He stared at her injury with a heartbroken expression and said, "I should be the one apologizing to you. I told you I was going to protect you, but you still ended up getting injured. Does it still hurt?"
Giselle shook her head. She looked extremely worn out.
"Not really. Let's not talk about my injury right now," she replied.
