When Gideon arrived at Donovan's villa, the steward told him that Donovan wasn't home but was at the company.

He sped off again, heading straight for the headquarters of Kane Pharmaceutical Group.

After parking and taking the elevator up, he had just reached the CEO's office when he saw Donovan coming in through the door. He was probably just back from a meeting.

Without a word, Gideon opened the door and strode in.

Hearing the sound of the door, Donovan turned around. His expression stiffened.

"I'm not here to fight with you today." Gideon walked right up to him and got straight to the point. "I just want to confirm something. Did Giselle come to see you last night?

"Tell me, where is she now?"

His questions grated on Donovan's nerves. "Get out. Don't come to bother me again."

He turned away, ready to get back to work.

"Damn it! Just tell me," Gideon gritted out, grabbing Donovan by the collar. "I've been trying to reach her since last night and can't get through. I'm worried that something has happened to her. Just tell me the truth—if you can confirm she's safe, I'll leave immediately."

No one else in the world had ever dared grab Donovan by the collar like this. He glowered at Gideon, looking as if someone had punched the living daylights out of him.

"Let go."

"Say something!"

Gideon didn't let go. He only became more aggressive.

Donovan's patience snapped. Clenching his fist, he drove it hard into Gideon's face.
