Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 221

"I didn't!" Anne shouted, her face filled with frustration. "Let go of me!"

"Tell me where she is right now. As long as she's safe, I'll let you go," Gideon ground out.

He was almost certain the woman in front of him was behind Giselle's disappearance.

"If anything happens to her, I swear I'll make your whole family pay for this!" he snarled, the threat in his voice unmistakable.

"But I didn't!" Anne yelled back. "This has nothing to do with me!"

Watching their heated exchange from the window, Donovan remained unfazed. But as he listened to Gideon's frantic words and repeated mentions of Giselle's disappearance, his composure began to slip.

Just then, Gideon's phone rang.

He let go of Anne and pulled the phone out from his pocket. It was an unfamiliar number from out of town.

For some reason, seeing that number sent a jolt of unease through him.

After four or five rings, he finally swiped to answer and held the phone to his ear.

"Hello?"

Silence stretched on the other end of the line.

"Hello? Say something!" Gideon barked.

"Mr. Grayson." A deep, hoarse male voice echoed in his ears. "Do you recognize my voice?"

Gideon paused for a few seconds. "Who the hell are you?"

A low, mocking chuckle came through the line.

"Five years ago, you broke my son's leg," the voice drawled out. "Ring any bells?"
