Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 228

Then Donovan spun toward Ethan and bellowed, "If you can't bear to let your son sacrifice himself, then keep a leash on him! Stop him from getting into trouble and bringing the whole family down with him."

"Giselle is mine," he continued in a daze, his voice thick with emotion. "I will be responsible for her fate."

Hearing this, Ethan couldn't bring himself to lash out at Donovan anymore. He sighed.

Tony felt bad, too. "Don, I'm really grateful that you're willing to help. But this is dangerous. Why not call the police and let them deal with it?"

Donovan ignored him and turned to Ethan. "Help me go to the bank and withdraw five million dollars in cash. I'll handle the rest."

Ethan was in a dilemma. "Don, I won't let you go. This is a death trap! If Mom finds out about this, she won't agree either!

"She's getting old now. Do you really think she can handle it if anything happens to you?"

"Quit the nonsense," Donovan said curtly. "Just do as I say and prepare the money for me."

After that, Donovan pulled Gideon aside to discuss the details of the deal with the kidnappers scheduled for the next day.

Seeing how determined Donovan was, Gideon had no way to argue with him.

As for Ethan, he knew his younger brother's nature all too well. Once Donovan had made a decision, there was no turning him around.

Even though Ethan was 20 years older, he had never dared to underestimate Donovan. Especially after Donovan joined the family business, his ruthless brilliance and overwhelming talent in managing the company had completely crushed Ethan's presence.

Donovan was cold, domineering, and sharp—his presence one Ethan could never suppress. More often than not, Ethan was the one who had to yield.
