Breaking Mr. Cold (Giselle and Donovan) novel Chapter 249

To her surprise, Orin didn't have anyone give Giselle an injection. Instead, he told her, "Stay here and learn for two days. You'll be taking over his position after that."

He was basically telling her to shadow the guy who knew a bit about medicine, pick up the basics, and eventually be the one patching the girls up and injecting that drug into their systems.

"That won't be necessary," Giselle responded. "I'm a doctor. I already know how to do all that."

Orin cast her a doubtful look. "Really?"

"Yeah."

Just then, a wounded woman was carried in and unceremoniously dumped on the bed beside them. Her face was ghostly pale, and she was barely breathing, as though she were almost dead.

Here, when a woman was injured or ill, she was never taken to the hospital. The most they would get was a quick patch-up here. If their illness or injury was too severe, they were left to die, and their bodies would be tossed into the nearby mountains or forest.

Giselle walked over and lifted the woman's clothes. The sight of the deep, jagged tears in her flesh and the steady flow of blood made her suck in a sharp breath.

She took out iodine and a few other disinfectants before cleaning and dressing the wounds. She might have been a veterinarian, but patching up human wounds was no challenge for her.
