"That won't be necessary!" Giselle exclaimed.
She didn't lash out at Gideon, but she didn't want to listen to anything he had to say either.
With the same sarcastic smile on her face, she said, "I've seen everything with my own eyes, and I understand the predicament you're in. The person you should be focusing on is your child—not me. I think we should call off our marriage for now."
After she finished speaking, she turned to leave.
"Giselle!" Gideon's eyes welled up with tears as he reached out and grabbed her arm. "You have to believe me. I've never lied to you. I only found out about the child two days ago. Please give me some time—"
"That's enough," she cut him off.
With a bitter smile, she continued, "I feel like our decision to get married was too rushed. Aside from the fact that you're adopted by Ethan, I know nothing about you. I think we should both be more mature and choose to do the right thing."
She tried to yank her arm away from him, but he didn't want to loosen his grip. He stared at her with a pained yet affectionate expression and refused to let go.
All of a sudden, Donovan, who'd been watching from a distance, marched over to them and aggressively pushed Gideon's hand away from her.
"You should head back inside and hold your son. He's crying hysterically," Donovan said in a mocking tone.
Gritting his teeth, Gideon glared at Donovan and clenched his fists. He was fully aware that the latter had orchestrated this entire situation. He had a very strong urge to punch him, but he understood that violence was not the answer to his problems.
"Your relationship with her ends here," Donovan warned. "Learn your place and think twice before meddling in her life from now on."
